For friends who like the uniqueness of Lake Kakaban, this is a destination that is worth a try.
Kakaban Island, the outermost island in Berau Regency, East Kalimantan, is really interesting to visit. The island, whose area is dominated by lakes, up to 80 percent of its land area, was once in the Derawan Island cluster. Now, an area of 774.2 hectares is included in Maratua District, to be precise in the Umbrella Village.
This lake is a habitat for thousands of non-poisonous jellyfish. There are two types of jellyfish in this lake, Golden Jellyfish and Moon Jellyfish. Each has a different color, from orange, reddish, white, and some even look like light purple.
To get to this island, from Kalimarau Airport, Tanjung Redeb, Berau Regency, you can continue with a speedboat with a capacity of 200 PK for 3 hours. Or, if by road, first go to Tanjung Batu for 2 hours and then continue by speedboat for 1 to 2 hours.
