Hello everyone!
In the last part of my previous post, I mentioned in the last paragraph that there might be a consolation to my ordeal. Well, getting home alive is more than enough as a consolation. But Mararison Island is the cherry on top. It was my second time on the island. I already showcased the island four years ago, but it was just a day tour and we were not able to visit the other side of the island. This time, we walked around the island, so there were new spots that we weren't able to see up close last time.
Let's start with the view at Kawit Sandbar. Of course, the beauty of Central Panay Mountain Range can be seen from the sandbar.

We immediately hired a guide after settling at the resort, where we stayed for a night. Since our flight back to Cebu was in the afternoon of the next day, we planned to relax at the beach in the morning. We would explore what Marirason has to offer while there was still sunlight.

Of course, we were greeted by the stunning grass-covered hills after passing the only elementary school on the island. Mararison Island is as dubbed the Little Batanes of Panay and I think it's just a fitting moniker. I haven't been to Batanes, and while it's still my ultimate island to visit here in the Philippines, seeing those hills in Mararison felt like one of my dreams came true. I felt a lot better compared in the morning, so I decided to go with Maria, James, and Junji as we continued exploring the island.

The beauty of Panay Island is best viewed at the top of one of the hills of Mararison. While clouds covered Mt. Madja-as at that time, it was still undeniable that they were able to summit that imposing mountain while I felt like dying while waiting for them at the campsite. Nevertheless, seeing that magnificent mountain from a different perspective made me thankful that I was able to descend alive.

Reaching the beach on the other side of the island made me feel relieved, even if it was a considerable walk. Clouds covered the sun, so it was not the best sunset, but it was still magical, considering that I was so sick the previous day that I had difficulty tracking time. To say that nature heals is an understatement.

We took some time to take pictures and enjoy the view before returning to the resort.

I think that's all for this post. See you in the next!
