Hello everyone, I’m here to share with you all these cute AirPod cases I made. I’m so excited about these because I’ve been wanting AirPods for years now but I was advised by my doctor to stay away from them sometime ago. After I was cleared to use them, I just still decided to stay away for a number of years.
Some days ago, I told my brother I wanted AirPods and he was asking me if I was sure.
Knowing how much he cares about me, I let him know I no more experience any form of pain in my ears. He was even more excited about the news than my mom. He surprised me with my AirPods the following day and I didn’t even hesitate to make the cases for it.
It was so easy making all the cases except the one with the hive logo. I later realized it would been easier to use a graph but I didn’t have any at that moment and I didn’t want to give up. It didn’t really come out as I wanted it but I will still use it hoping people will ask me the meaning of the logo and then I’ll use it as an opportunity to promote hive.
I spent about 2.5 hours on the hive themed cover because I kept on undoing my work and then 1.5 hours on the other cases.
I used a 1.60mm crochet hook, leftover yarns for this project. Unfortunately for me, I had to spend sometime untangling the yarn which was annoying at a point. I also used the charging case of the airpod as my reference for the measurement.
I started with the peach one with the bow. I wanted to have something girlish to remind me of some part of my childhood and that’s why I went with that colour.
I made 13 chains as the base according to the width of the charging case and then I started building on it with single crochet. I made three single crochet at the corners so I could keep going round. I continued till I got to the length of the case and then I stopped. I made a covering on the cover and then crocheted the edges with a hot pink yarn. I then made a bow with the yarn and attached it to the case.
For the second one, I was inspired by Tanjiro in demon slayer. I’m not really an anime fan but I fell in love with Tanjiro the very first time I watched demon slayer. I made a checkered case with olive and white. I used half double crochet for this and I kept on changing the colour of yarns anytime I had to change colour. I made a closing with about 7 rows of half double crochets and then finished off with a button. I then made the hand of the cover by making about 11 rows of half double crochet in three sets.
For the third case, as I said earlier, I made it with the hive logo for easy hive promotion. Knowing the kind of places I go and the people I meet all the time, I know they’ll definitely ask me what the “sign” means and then I’ll tell them. I made this just like the first one but I used half double crochet. For the logo, I made the kite part in 1,3,5,3,1 and the slanted Ls in 2 each. It was confusing as a point and now I know how important it is to always use graph for tapestry. I passed a piece of yarn through the second row from the top and turned it into a drawstring bag.

I’m not even sure I have a favourite because I really like all three. I’m so excited and I can’t wait to use them for various occasions. It was fun making these and I think I’ll make some more. Thank you for your time and let me know which one is your favourite.
