Hello everyone, before I start I would like to know what you do with your leftover yarns. In case you have been piling them up and do not know what to do with them then I have good news for you. Today, I want to share with you all a very cool way to make use of your left over yarns. It’s very simple and easy so don’t worry even if you’re just a beginner.
I know most of us crocheters have so much left over yarn and sometimes do not know what to do with them. Personally I have a whole bag of leftover yarns from years back and they eventually get entangled. I always use my mouth to make something out of them but today I decided to use my hands(haha).
I didn’t know what to do until I thought of a wallet to keep cards.
With how the world is going, I know most of us barely keep cash on us. It’s always ATM cards right and probably ID cards so that was the inspiration behind this wallet. Another reason why it is ideal for cards is because the type of stitch I used makes the yarn serve as a cushion to the card and it will be very hard for the card to even break whiles in the wallet. I made it cute and with bright colors so that unlike how you normally struggle to look for your black wallets, these colors will always give it out in case you misplace it at home and you’re looking for it.
Even though single crochet is time consuming I used 2 hours for a wallet. ( not bad I think)
The materials I used were
• leftover yarn
• 1.60mm crochet hook
• a pair of scissors
I started by making 20 chains first.
I then went ahead to make rows of single crochet till I got the desired number of rows I wanted which was 64 in all.
I now folded the upper and lower parts to the middle and made sure they could contain the cards.
I now slip stitched all sides to close the spaces and make the wallet. I was then done with the cute wallet.
The result.
I really enjoyed making these and they already even had their owners before I finished making them. Even though I hate working with single crochets, I think these were totally worth it. @olujay and @quduus1 I hope you like them as much as I do.
Thank you all for your time.
