Hey, lovers of fashion and good styling.
I am excited to share with you this beautiful project I embarked on.
Having to make this stylish playsuit for a client in less than 2 days as she needed it urgently for a get-together.
There's something beautiful about the African print fabrics (Ankara) but this one here is called the Kente fabric more Ghanian than Nigerian.
So I had to work with a lot of Kente fabric this period I had to use a piece of paper to differentiate each client's own from another.
This particular client came in to make this outfit because she said she's been seeing my good jobs sampled always on my dummies outside my fashion outlet.
My mannequin advertised for me, hehe and so she decided to trust me with this outfit.
Moving on, let's talk about the fabrics I needed to make the playsuit a reality.
Kente fabric
Lining
zipper
Thread
Elastic
It was a princess dart, while learning fashion design, I fell in love with the princess dart maybe because it's cute and gives more fitting than the regular dart.
So, the upper part was cut using my client's measurement, her bust measurement, yoke, waist, shoulder, and half-length.
I would make a beautiful tutorial soon how to cut the princess dart soon.
As for this project, I was quite in a hurry to finish up the project and deliver that I forgot to take the step-by-step pictures.๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Then I cut the lower part as a short, which meant I make use of the thigh measurement, waist, hip, crotch, and short length.
After cutting I turned them using the lining just for the upper part. And then I made a cold shoulder sleeve using my elastic, I cut it in the form of an off-shoulder flare.
I did remember to take the shot of the outfit fitted on my dummies before the arrival of my client.
Here it is.
So, I patiently waited for my client to come in for fittings, as she arrived and saw her outfit on the mannequin, she was excited already and couldn't wait to fit it.
She sent me pictures before she left her home for the hangout and you know what? I think there is no greater joy than seeing your client happy with your work.
The smile usually means a whole lot to me and I am glad, though I made the outfit in a rush, it was worth it in the end and yes my client was happy with it.
This is my client with all smiles.
I plan to make outfits like this for myself too, I plan to use it for occasions like visiting the beach and other hanging out with friends.
Sometimes after making an outfit for a client, I get inspired too, and sometimes, I make mine with a touch of difference.
Thank you for your time.
All images used are mine.
