Greetings, my dear needle friends!
I hope this is a very productive week and that health and wellness abounds for all.
Today, I am here to share with you the last embroidery I did. An embroidery that meant a challenge for me because it is something totally different from what I have been embroidering.
As you have seen in what I have shared in my publications, what I like to embroider the most are flowers, I love them and my creativity is at its peak when I embroider them. I really enjoy combining colors, shading them and using different stitches.
This figure of an embroidered Gremlins was requested by a Colombian friend of mine who is a lover of these creatures, and a collector of everything that has to do with these horror movies.
At first, I was thoughtful, but since I like challenges and what I don't know I look for a way to learn it, I said yes, but not everything went that far. He wanted me to embroider the figure on a black flannel and sent me a reference image.
I put my hands on my head and exclaimed: Oh, God!
I had never embroidered on dark fabrics before, let alone a black one. So, having made the commitment, I had no choice but to start doing my work.
I went out to buy a white pencil, especially for drawing on dark fabrics. Although, what I really wanted was to get a soluble paper that I had seen on the internet that is ideal for this type of embroidery because the drawing is printed on that paper, it sticks to the fabric, the embroidery is done and then, when the fabric is wet, the paper comes out without a trace and the drawing is perfect.

Hoy, estoy por acá para compartir con ustedes el último bordado que realicé. Un bordado que significó todo un reto para mí porque es algo totalmente distinto a lo que he venido bordando.
Como han visto en lo que he compartido en mis publicaciones, lo más que me gusta bordar son flores, me encantan y mi creatividad se pone a tope cuando las bordo. Me gusta mucho combinar colores, matizarlos y usar puntos distintos.
Esta figura de un Gremlins bordado me la pidió un amigo colombiano que es amante de estas criaturas, y un coleccionista de todo lo que tiene que ver con estas películas de terror.
En un primer instante, me quedé pensativa, pero como me gustan los retos y lo que no sé busco la forma de aprenderlo, le dije que sí, pero no todo llegó hasta ahí. Él quería que le bordara la figura en una franela negra y me envió una imagen referencial.
Me puse las manos en la cabeza y exclamé: ¡Ay, Dios!
Nunca antes había bordado en telas oscuras y menos en una de color negro. Así que, asumido el compromiso, no me quedaba otra salida que empezar a hacer mi trabajo.
Salí a comprar un lápiz de color blanco, especial para hacer dibujos en telas oscuras. Aunque, lo que quería, realmente, era conseguir un papel soluble que había visto por internet que es ideal para hacer este tipo de bordados porque el dibujo se imprime en ese papel, se pega a la tela, se hace el bordado y luego, al mojar la tela, el papel sale sin dejar rastro y el dibujo queda perfecto.

I started the embroidery with a bit of fear because, as I said, it was my first time and, besides, it is a complex figure. It is not easy to embroider eyes, mouth, expressions. I confess that I undid the embroidery of the eyes several times because I didn't like them, and although they were not perfect, it was the best I could do.
I used filling stitches and back stitches to achieve texture in the embroidery.
My friend saw a part of the figure that I had already embroidered and was delighted, which gave me more confidence that I was doing it right and I continued to be more motivated.
It took me two weeks to embroider Gizmo on the black flannel, because when I saw that I didn't like what I embroidered, I put it aside and went back to embroidering when I felt encouraged again. Honestly, it was quite a challenge.
Just today, I finished it and I wanted to share it with you. I would love to get your feedback and some suggestions on how to make it better and better.
I told my private model (my husband) to wear the flannel to take the pictures for my post and I liked the result. At least he has a good distance, as they say haha!
I know my friend will like it and that is the greatest satisfaction, after the effort and dedication I put into this project.

Inicié el bordado con un poco de temor porque, como les decía, es mi primera vez y, además, es una figura compleja. No es fácil bordar ojos, boca, expresiones. Les confieso que deshice el bordado de los ojos varias veces porque no me gustaban, y aunque no me quedaron perfectos, fue lo mejor que pude hacer.
Usé puntos de relleno y puntos atrás para lograr textura en el bordado.
Mi amigo vio una parte de la figura que ya tenía bordada y quedó encantado, lo cual me dio más confianza en que lo estaba haciendo bien y seguí más motivada.
Me llevó dos semanas bordar a Gizmo en la franela negra, pues cuando veía que no me gustaba lo que bordada, lo dejaba a un lado y regresaba a bordar cuando me sentía, nuevamente, animada. Sinceramente, fue todo un reto.
Justo, hoy, lo terminé y lo quise compartir con ustedes. Me encantaría que me dejaran su apreciación y algunas sugerencias para hacerlo cada vez mejor.
Le dije a mi modelo particular (mi esposo) que se pusiera la franela para tomarle las fotos para mi post y me gustó el resultado. Al menos, tiene buen lejos. como dicen ¡jajaja!
Sé que a mi amigo le va a gustar y esa es la mayor satisfacción, después del esfuerzo y la dedicación que le puse a este proyecto.
