Happy Needle Monday, my dear friends! I hope you are well, in good health and well being.
Today I want to share with much excitement an accomplishment that fills me with pride: I have finished my sweater knitted with grannys. After knitting my daughter's, I wanted to make one for myself. I liked the process so much, the way each little square was transforming into something useful and pretty, that I couldn't resist. So, without rushing, I went knitting granny by granny, enjoying every stitch, every change of yarn, every color combination during these last two months.
For this sweater I used a range of blues that I fell in love with from the beginning. Intense blues like dark blue and soft blues like sky blue are the ones that predominate and remind me of the sky, the sea and the calm I find when I have the crochet in my hands. In total I knitted 26 grannys, which I then joined with great patience and care. Each one was like a small meditation, a pause for me, a moment of creation that added to the whole.
The most beautiful thing about this project, besides the final result, has been the experience itself. I had never knitted clothes before, and now that I see myself with this sweater on, I can't help but smile. I'm happy to have given myself this gift, to have trusted that I could do it, to have enjoyed the process as much as I did, and to have been able to make it.

Hoy quiero compartir con mucha emoción un logro que me llena de orgullo: he terminado mi suéter tejido con grannys. Después de tejer el de mi hija, me quedé con las ganas de hacer uno para mí. Me gustó tanto el proceso, la forma en que cada cuadrito se iba transformando en algo útil y bonito, que no pude resistirme. Así que, sin apuro, fui tejiendo granny por granny, disfrutando cada puntada, cada cambio de hilo, cada combinación de color durante estos dos últimos meses.
Para este suéter utilicé una gama de azules que me enamoró desde el principio. Azules intensos como el azul oscuro y suaves como el azul cielo que son los que predominan y me recuerdan al cielo, al mar y a la calma que encuentro cuando tengo el crochet entre las manos. En total tejí 26 grannys, que luego uní con mucha paciencia y cuidado. Cada uno fue como una pequeña meditación, una pausa para mí, un momento de creación que se sumaba al conjunto.
Lo más bonito de este proyecto, además del resultado final, ha sido la experiencia en sí. Nunca antes había tejido ropa, y ahora que me veo con este suéter puesto, no puedo evitar sonreír. Me siento feliz de haberme dado este regalo, de haber confiado en que podía hacerlo, de haber disfrutado tanto del proceso como del resultado.
Knitting this sweater has also been a way to connect with myself, with my desire to learn, to create something unique, handmade and with love. It makes me think of all that we are capable of achieving when we let ourselves be carried away by what we are passionate about.
So today, on this needlepoint Monday, I celebrate this great little personal accomplishment. Wearing a sweater knitted by me, with colors that I really like and made to my measurements, makes me feel strong, creative and grateful. And of course, I already have the next project in mind! Because once you start knitting with your heart, it's hard to stop.

Tejer este suéter ha sido también una forma de conectar conmigo misma, con mis ganas de aprender, de crear algo único, hecho a mano y con mucho cariño. Me hace pensar en todo lo que somos capaces de lograr cuando nos dejamos llevar por lo que nos apasiona.
Así que hoy, en este lunes de agujas, celebro este pequeño gran logro personal. Llevar puesto un suéter tejido por mí, con colores que me gustan mucho y hecho a mi medida, me hace sentir fuerte, creativa y agradecida. Y claro, ¡ya tengo en mente el próximo proyecto! Porque una vez que se empieza a tejer con el corazón, es difícil parar.
