Hello everyone
Greetings to you all on this beautiful day, I hope you are having great time of the week, it's another beautiful day and I'm here to share with you the cutting and sewing process of a simple pouch I made for phone, cash and other items for grandma's friend using pieces of left over fabric from her outfit.
Few months ago, I made an outfit for grandma for a wedding she attended it was a simple gown with the sleeves cut together with the outfit and the outcome was beautiful.
After the outfit was delivered to grandma, she requested that I make a matching pouch with the left over pieces of fabric which I did despite that I only had little pieces, I had to combine it with another fabric just to make her request delivered.
Few days ago, grandma called and asked if I could make a pouch for her friend, she said as soon as her friend saw her with the matching pouch with her outfit she wore, she liked it and wanted to have something similar but I told her I had exhausted the pieces with me, surprisingly, she brought few pieces and it was sent to me, now I know I had no choice than to get it done.
Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process below
The pieces I was given was barely enough so I had to join another fabric to it, so I cut out 2 pieces of 8.5 x 6"
I cut out another piece for the base measuring 8.5 x 4"
I placed the other fabric on the main fabric and sew it together on both sides after which it was top stitched on
It was folded together and I made a curve on both edges
It was placed on a lining and I cut out same shape, I placed a zipper on the main fabric and lining and it was sewn together on both sides at the tip after which it was top stitched on
It was zipped together and at the base, I folded in 1" on both sides
For the handle, I measured and cut out 10 x 2" from the pieces of fabric, it was folded and sewn together on both sides
It was taken to the sewing machine and was sewn on both sides with the handle sewn to one side of the pouch
Finally, it was turned inside out and this is the beautiful outcome.
I know grandma will be proud of me for making this beautiful pouch for her friend when I delivered it to her.
