Hello everyone
Happy new week and a beautiful Monday to you all in this great community @needleworkmonday, I hope you all had a lovely weekend, it's the beginning of a new week and I wish you all a productive and successful week. It's another day for us all here to showcase our creativity and things we have done with passion, I'm looking forward to learn and read beautiful post from you all. Today I will be sharing with you the successful completion of a family outfit I made for my sister and her two daughters
Last week, I began the cutting and sewing process of two beautiful gown outfit I made for my sister's daughters with pleated hem and puff sleeves with the african print fabric given to them by their grandma and the outcome was so beautiful
At first, my sister had asked if the fabric would be enough for her and the children but I suggested we complete that of the children outfit first, well enough,I have some left over after making the two outfits, then I used the remaining fabric to make similar gown outfit for their mother as well.
Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process
From the remaining fabric, I folded it in 2 to cut the lower bodice using my sister's bodice measurement from waist to knee line with lining
The front was placed on another folded fabric to cut out the back with zipper allowance and lining which was used to turn it inside out
The front and back were sewn together with the side seam allowance
I measured the round knee measurement which was used to cut out x3 of the round knee measurement, it was gathered with a long stitch and set aside
The gathered pleat was sewn to the round hem of the gown
I proceeded to the cutting of the upper bodice with a princess dart bustier pattern with padded.
The front pattern was sewn together with the lining and was set aside
For the back pattern, I cut out a basic block pattern with lining to turn it inside out
The front and back were sewn together on the shoulder and with the side seam allowance.
The upper bodice was sewn to the lower part of the gown and i have this
At this point, I had exhausted all the fabric, thinking of what to do, I used a plain blue fabric to cut a flare sleeves with bias tape to pipe the hem of the sleeves
Finally, the sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference and I have this beautiful outfit with the zipper sewn to the zipper allowance at the back.
I hope you like the beautiful outcome, now, my sister and he daughters have their beautiful outfit ready
