Hello everyone
A beautiful day to you all on this lovely day, I hope you are all having a great time and a lovely week, it is my pleasure today to share with you the making of this tool bag I recently made for my brother in-law from pieces of fabric.
Schools are on break now and for this reason, my mother inlaw told his grandson who is staying with her to get enrolled any hand work of his choice so as to get himself empowered instead of roaming the street doing nothing reasonable, as he was advised, he decided to go into phone repair which is a nice choice for him, he had had that in mind even before he was asked grandma and everyone was happy with him and he was taken where he will learn what he has decided to do, which he was registered.
On Monday, he told grandma that he would need a bag to put some of his tools to work, when I was told, I offered to help him make a bag from fabric just as I used to that will be useful for him for the main time, I made this boxy shape bag with zipper, another side zipper and handle by the side.
Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process.
I measured and cut out 15 x 14.5" from the main fabric with lining and interfacing ironed on the main fabric
For the side pocket, I cut out 14 x 9" I placed a zipper on the main fabric then the piece for the pocket was placed on the lining and sewn together.
I cut out another piece of 14 x 3 which was sewn on the other side of the zipper with the pocket folded up and sewn together.
It was placed on a lining then I cut out same shape.
I placed another zipper on the tip of main fabric and placed the lining on it on both sides and it was sewn together and top stitched on the right sides.
It was folded together with the zipper zipped to the middle and I notched the mid point
For the handle, I cut out 4 x 8" and another 2 pieces of 2 x 2" which was folded and sewn on both sides
The two small piece were placed in the middle on both sides and sewn together.
The excess zipper were cut off and I marked 2" on the 4 corners which were cut out.
The 4 corners were sewn together with the handle fixed on two sides and sewn together.
It was turned inside out and this is the final outcome.
Now my brother in-law can have his tools neatly package in a bag easy for him to carry around.
My brother in-law and grandma was so happy to have the bag I made, it has helped to cut cost of buying a new one, I'm so happy I could help out with my creativity.
