Happy Monday and a beautiful new week to you all my lovely friends, lovers of creativity, members of this great community @needleworkmonday i know most of us are out there at our various places of work and to some of us who are home and still making use of our time to create beautiful projects with our needle and thread, i wish us all greater achievement and positive results in every of our endeavors. Today, i will be sharing with you all the simple step by step process taken to revive my old throw pillow to a new and beautiful one
I made a small throw pillow a very long time ago which i really liked so much when i made it, it has been a very long time ago and it has really flattened and not looking nice any more, it was kept among some of my old items and luckily enough for me, just yesterday i was looking for a particular bag i had and i came across my then precious throw pillow.
Honestly, it's looking really old and dirty, immediately i decided to bring it back to life, i thought of what to do and since i have a lot of left over fabric, i decided to change the cover and make it look brand new, after the simple step by step process taken, i was able to achieve this
Join me in the simple step by step process to achieve this beautiful outcome
From my fabric, i measured and cut out 2 pieces of a square shape measuring 15 x 15"
I took one of the pieces and started working on it, it was folded in two in a triangle shape
It was taken to the sewing machine and I sew on the folded part on a straight line
It was folded on the other side as well in a triangle shape just as i did in the first step and it was sewn as well
The same process was repeated on the other piece as well
Both pieces were folded together right side to right side and was sewn together round leaving a small opening where it can be turned inside out
It was turned inside out through the small opening and i have the fiber from the old throw pillow by the side
Through the opening, i fill in all the fiber in the new cover and its looking nice already
I used my hand needle and thread to make an invisible stitch on the opening and the thread was cut off
Finally, i decided to add a simple embellishments to it and with my gum, i placed a silver applique at the middle on the front and back.
This is the final and beautiful outcome, i hope you like how it looks just as i love it.
With these simple step by step process, i now have my throw pillow looking nice and beautiful.
