Hello everyone
Happy Monday and a beautiful new week to you all my lovely friends, lovers of creativity, members of this great community @needleworkmonday and hive, i bring you a warm greetings on this lovely day and i hope you are all doing great. Today, i will be sharing with you with great pleasure the making of a simple and easy project of a bra i recently made using Ankara fabric for my teen nice.
It's holiday time and tge children are home, those in a boarding house schooling far away from home are all back home to rest for awhile before school resumes again for another session, as this is, my niece is back home with the family, she will be staying at home for sometimes before she will be enrolled for lessons, for the main time she will be staying at home, i decided to make some simple, easy and useful items for her, this is not the first time im doing this, i usually make beautiful items for her with fabrics which she likes and appreciate so much, i have a lot of things to make for her and i know she will be sending what she needs as well, starting with this is the first item on the list that she can easily wear in her room and I'm sure she will like the beautiful outcome.
This simple bra was made from a piece of circle shape with a strap and elastic at the back to make it easy to wear and comfortable on her.
Let me take you through the step by step process below
I folded my Ankara fabric into four to cut out a circle using the flare method with the measurement of 6" since my niece is not too busty, the circle was cut out and was cut in two at the middle
For the strap, i measured and cut out 2 pieces of 14 x 2.5" it was folded and sewn together after which it was turned inside out and neatly ironed
The strap was placed on the middle of the diameter of the circle, it was folded and sewn together
The same process was repeated on the other piece as well and at the middle of each, i sew in a dart of 2" length
I cut out her waist circumference measurement which is 28 x 4" it was folded in two and seen on the right side
I notched the mid point and sew both cup on the middle
It was folded so as to locate where the other strap would be and it was sewn at tge appropriate place
For tge elastic casing, i cut out a small piece of 10 x 2.5" it was folded and sewn together before it was turned inside out
I cut out and elastic band of 5 x 1" and it was inserted in the loop and secured on both sides
It was sewn to both ends at the back and this is the final outcome
It was tried on my maniquinne to see the beautiful outcome and it was looking so nice
To eliminate the bulging at the center front, i sew in a dart of 1" on the band at it was perfect.
I love tge beautiful outcome and I am thinking of making one for myself as well, i hope you like the beautiful outcome of this simple bra made with Ankara fabric
