Hello everyone
Greetings to you all beautiful people, my lovely friends, lovers of creativity, members of this great community @needleworkmonday and hive, i hope you are all doing great, it is another beautiful Monday to us all in this community a day we all come together to share our beautiful creativity, I'm always here with so much excitement to see beautiful post from you all. I wish us all a happy and productive week. Today, i will be sharing a simple tutorial on how i made a matching purse with my fabric handbag i recently made and i know you will like the beautiful outcome.
Recently, i made a bag with the combination of two colors of fabric and the outcome was so nice and beautiful as it matches with an outfit i wore to church, i had same color of shoes, headgear and my handbag, with a white dress
Few days ago, i saw someone with a bag and a purse made with same leather as it was a designer bag and very expensive, i immediately got an inspiration from it and thought of making same with my hand bag i had made using same fabric, sometimes, i might just decide to go out with just the purse or both with my cash and phone in the purse.
The purse was made with a space for cash with zipper and another space for phone with a flip cover and two pressing button to secure both pocket.
join me in the cutting and sewing process
14 x 9" was measured and cut out from the main fabric, i cut out an interfacing of same measurement which was ironed on it and lining
I placed a zipper on the main fabric and lining on the zipper with the zipper head facing down and it was sewn together at the tip of the zipper before it was top stitched on the right side.
I cut out another lining for the inner pocket measuring 9 x 7" it was placed on the other side of the zipper and was sewn together on the right side
It was turned to the other side while I measured 5" and folded in the remaining pieces and i sew on it
For the handle, i cut out a small piece of 10 x 3" it was folded in on both sides and was sewn together on both sides
The lining and fabric were folded up and i sew on it round leaving an opening at the top where it can be turned inside out with the zipper opened to the middle and the handle sewn to one side
The excess were trimmed off and it was turned inside out through the opening at the top
It was neatly ironed and i top stitched at tge tip round, i used my hand needle and thread to fix two pressing button on the flip cover and the opposite side as well
This is the final and beautiful outcome of my purse, i hope you like the beautiful outcome.
You can see how beautiful it looks with my fabric hand bag, now i have my purse matching with my bag just as the expensive designers bags in stores.
