I bring you all greetings from this part of the world, i hope you are doing great, its been a beautiful weekend here with me working on a simple project for my nieces, i believe you are enjoying your weekend with family and friends, it is my pleasure to share with you today the making of these ponytail holder with elastic band using same fabric with the combination of different fabrics for my sister's daughters to complement their outfit i recently made for them.
Not long ago, i made these outfit for my sister's two daughters and after which, it is a deal that i have to make an accessory or something simple to complement each outfit made for them, well as i am good in making use of left over or scraps from fabric to make beautiful things, it's not really a challenge for my as i can always keep up with that, so after the successful completion of the outfit, i used some little piece to make these as an accessory.
I had to make the ponytail holder with the combination of the main fabric with two different colors of another fabric just to differentiate it from the other, so that the little girl can easily identify hers from her older sister
From the main fabric, i cut out 5.5 x 10" and the same was cut out on the plain fabric as well
It was sewn together and ironed on the middle where it was sewn together
It was sewn together from one end to the other leaving a small opening at the middle where it can be turned inside out then on both edges, i marked 1" and made a slant
It was turned inside out through the small opening and was ironed on
From the middle, i measured 2" and it was folded in as seen below
The same process was repeated on the other side as well and i Mark the middle
I used my hand needle and thread to run a long stitch on the middle and it was secured
To make the elastic casing, i measured and cut out 20 x 1.5" it was folded together and sewn after which it was turned inside out
I cut out elastic band of 0.5 x 7" which was inserted in the loop and was secure on both ends
I used my gum to place the elastic casing and the bow together and finally the rough part was covered with a little piece sewn and turned inside out
The same process was used to make the other bow ponytail holder but with a blue plain fabric.
This is the final outcome of both bow ponytail holder with elastic band made for my sister's daughters to complement their outfit and i hope you like the beautiful outcome.
