Hello my fellow needleworkers. I am using this opportunity to wish you all a happy and prosperous new year. It is 2024 finally and I am starting the year by setting my goals for 2024. If you are curious about some of my accomplishments for 2023, you can visit this [post](@blezyn/needlework-my-2023-accomplishments
Tell us something you want to learn or accomplish for the upcoming year. Talk about what inspired this goal and how you plan to achieve it.
Sometime in 2023, I decided I wanted to take my crochet a step further by creating my own patterns/free handing projects. I did a couple and they were good. Now I want to follow up in 2024, to build on them and work my way toward creating unique patterns.
I will be starting small, working on creating simple straight forward patterns, then working my way up to more complicated patterns. I know it is not going to be easy and it may involve some frogging but I am willing to commit my time into it and make sure I achieve my goal in the end.
The second thing I want to focus more on is posting and becoming more active in my favorite community - needlework. I was quite inactive in 2023 for various reasons, However I do want that to change, I am actively putting things in place to ensure I am active in the community and continue to be active for the rest of 2024.
Also in line with being active, another goal is to take my business to the next level, first I want to start by being active on TikTok also, it seems like one of the best ways to gain exposure and I want to take advantage of that when it comes to exposure for my brand. Based on what I learned in 2023, I have written down a few things that will help with achieving that goal.
First, I want to work on building my following. One way to do that is to post educational contents for beginner crocheters and then also post contents that cater to the needs of the lovers of crochets. So for the first quarter, I am looking at doubling my current following using this method.
Another thing I want to learn in the new year which is not necessarily crochet related is nails. No, I am not trying to be a professional nail tech, I am just trying to take care of my own nails. I have really thin nails, they get long but they break easily and all through 2023 everytime I would fix nails, taking them off would result in so much pain and discoloration to my nail bed.
I did talk to the few nail techs I tried about this issue and it’s either they don’t know what to do about it or just don’t care. For my peace of mind, I will go with the former. So as a result, I want to do my own research and learn how to care for my nails and if I am fixing, I will do them myself and watch out for better ways to care for my nails.
These are some of the goals I want to achieve in 2024, as the year goes on new goals will arise and I will of course add them to the list, for now, these are the things on my to-do-list. I will update you guys on the progress as they come!
Thanks for stopping by❤️
