Hello everyone! Today is an exciting day for me because I get to show my first pattern testing project with my fellow needleworkers. If you’re not familiar with pattern testing, it basically has to do with crochet designers coming up with new pattern designs and asking people to test the pattern to see if they need to make some adjustments before putting the pattern for sale.
I have been seeing some testers calling on IG and I have been admiring them from afar but on this fateful day, I decided to just apply and see if I would be lucky enough to be chosen among the pattern testers. I was a bit nervous while filling the form but I thought to myself, the worst that could happen is that I don’t get chosen.
About a week later, I got a dm on instagram informing me I am one of those selected to test Nicole’s number one jumper by @yarnsister on IG. I couldn’t contain my joy. She sent the pattern to my gmail and I set out to get the required yarn to start.
At first glance I had some trouble understanding the pattern. Maybe because it is my first time trying a written pattern. I have become so used to video tutorials that the written pattern felt weird. So I gave myself some time and went back to it. Surprisingly the second time around it felt like my brain opened and it became so easy to understand everything.
My number one jumper is the first pattern by Nicole. Isn’t it interesting that my first pattern test will be with someone who is creating a pattern for the first time. The reason I was really interested in testing the pattern is because of the similarity between the cardigan I made a while back and this jumper. Also the design in front is captivating.
The pattern is quite easy to follow even for beginners and it works up nicely. You don’t have to be an advanced crocheter to get the hang of the pattern. I had a fun time making it and Nicole is really good at making everyone feel comfortable to ask questions where they need to.
I love that it allows one to be creative with their color choices. Some of the creations from other pattern testers have some really cute color combinations. The pattern ranges from sizes up to 1 year to 4XL and so it is suitable for all groups. The pattern release date is June 2nd, you can check out Nicole's page(@yarnsister) on IG to see designs from other testers.
Thanks for stopping by❤
