With this post I make my first entry to this wonderful event or challenge that is happening in our NeedleworkMonday community: Your bucket list for 2023!
Con esta publicación hago mi primera entrada a este maravilloso evento o reto que está sucediendo en nuestra comunidad NeedleworkMonday: ¡Tú lista de cosas para hacer este 2023!
It is very convenient at this time where we come from a long vacation and many do not know where to start, in my case the list of desires or pending are so many that sometimes I find it hard to make the decision. I'll be honest, since I met pinteres I have saved a lot of pins and I have several folders where I keep ideas to do, but there is a folder called "Projects to try" in that there are hundreds of images that I love, some I have put into practice, while others are waiting with the firm conviction that someday I'll do them.
Es muy conveniente en este momento donde llegamos de unas vacaciones largas y muchas no sabemos por dónde empezar, en mi caso la lista de deseos o pendientes son tantos que me cuesta a veces tomar la decisión. Les voy a ser sincera, desde que conocí pinteres he guardado un montón de pines y tengo varias carpetas donde voy guardando ideas para realizar, pero hay una carpeta que se llama “Proyectos por intentar” en esa hay cientos de imágenes que amo, algunos los he puesto en práctica, mientras que hay otros esperando con la firme convicción de que algún día las voy a realizar.
Well, this year, it's now or never, don't you believe it!
Ahhhh! But there are not only the ideas I get from the internet, I also have to mention the ideas that arise from day to day, when you go to the market, to a shopping mall, television or a simple meeting with friends; every day more and more ideas are born, not to mention the crafts that we see in our community and keep in our blogs and our hearts.
Pues este año, es el año ¡ahora o nunca! ¡No lo creen!
¡Ahhhh! Pero no solo están las ideas que consigo de internet, también les tengo que mencionar de las ideas que van surgiendo del día a día, de cuando vas al mercado, a un centro comercial, la televisión o a una simple reunión con las amigas; cada día nacen más y más ideas, ni hablar de las manualidades que vemos en nuestra comunidad y guardamos en nuestros blogs y nuestro corazón.
As you can see there is a lot to do, I think this challenge has fallen like a ring to my finger and I will do everything in my power to get practice in the amigurumi technique and who knows, I might even make pieces as beautiful as those of my friends Ivycrafts, Jonalyn2020, Irenenavarroart, jicrochet and creacioneslelys whom I admire since my beginnings for creating unique, perfect pieces, worthy of admiration.
Como ven hay mucho por hacer, creo que este reto me ha caído como anillo al dedo y haré de todo lo que este a mi alcance para conseguir la practica en la técnica del amigurumi y quien quita y llegue a elaborar piezas tan lindas como las de mis amigas @Ivycrafts, @Jonalyn2020, @Irenenavarroart, @jicrochet y @creacioneslelys a quienes admiro desde mis inicios por crear piezas únicas, perfectas, dignas de admirar.
Well, as this post says in its main image, "Today is a good day to start" and I wanted to do it with this beautiful quilt which is made to serve as a support during my exercises.
Pues bien, como dice este post en su imagen principal, “Hoy es un buen día para empezar” y he querido hacerlo con esta linda colcha la cual está elaborada para servirme de apoyo durante mis ejercicios.
For those who follow me know that since last year I'm in the "Fitness" wave, in this world I found a space, an escape just for me, where I'm not only investing my time in physical health but also in mental health, YES friends! Just as you hear it, doing any physical activity helps you to recreate the mind, distract yourself, rest. And if you get a group of people who have the same tastes for recreational activity as the ones I found on my way, it gets even better.
Para las que me siguen saben que desde el año pasado estoy en la onda “Fitness”, en este mundo encontré un espacio, un escape solo para mí, donde no solo estoy invirtiendo mi tiempo en salud física sino también en salud mental, ¡SI amigas! Así como lo oyen, realizar cualquier actividad física te ayuda a recrear la mente, distraerse, descansar. Y si de paso consigues un grupo de personas que tengan tus mismos gustos por la actividad recreativa como las que encontré en mi camino, pues la cosa se pone aún mejor.
This year I started off on the right foot, I did it early, starting the year, without thinking too much about it because otherwise I would get lazy.
And to put a little love into the thing I made myself a special quilt to do my exercises, made with many fabric clippings that I always have saved over there to give them a second chance.
Este año comencé con buen pie, lo hice desde temprano, empezando el año, sin pensarlo mucho porque si no me agarra la flojera.
Y para ponerle un poco de amor a la cosa me he hecho una colcha especial para hacer mis ejercicios, hecha con muchos recortes de tela que siempre tengo guardados por allí para darles una segunda oportunidad.
How to do it:
Since it was something for me I didn't put any special measurements on it, I simply made the most of each scrap and little by little I pieced the rectangle together.
- I cut the squares with a scissors, but maybe you know that there is a special board and cutter to make this kind of work and so they are perfect. I hope I can have mine soon because I love to do this kind of projects.
Como era algo para mí no le puse ninguna medida especial, simplemente aproveché al máximo cada retazo y poco a poco fui armando el rectángulo.
- Corte los cuadros con una tijera, pero tal vez ustedes saben que existe una tabla y un cortador especial para hacer este tipo de trabajos y así queden perfectos. Espero que pronto pueda tener el mío porque me encanta realizar este tipo de proyectos.
After you have a good amount of squares of different sizes, you go molding, you go fitting one with the other, combining colors to make it look even better.
Then we go to the sewing machine and join strips either lengthwise or widthwise.
We overlap over the wadding and cut off the excess.
We cut a lining fabric of the same size as the main cover.
We join or baste the 3 pieces together and place a bias binding all the way around.
- Luego que tienes una buena cantidad de cuadros de distintas medidas, vas moldeando, vas encajando uno con el otro, combinando colores para que luzca aún mejor.
- Luego nos vamos a la máquina de coser y unimos por tiras ya sea a lo largo o a lo ancho.
- Sobreponemos sobre la guata y cortamos los excesos.
- Cortamos una tela de forro de la misma medida que la tapa principal.
- Unimos o basteamos las 3 piezas y colocamos un sesgo por todo el contorno.
As you can see friends, these are just suggestions rather than instructions, it all depends on the size of the fabrics that you have, they are joining and forming everything.
Yesterday I used for the first time my quilt and I put in the center "Fitness World" decorated with flowers to make it more unique and special. For a long time I had it in my mind, but for one thing or another I had not been able to fulfill my wish. Now I could change the old towel for something made with my own hands.
Como ven amigos, esto más que instrucciones son solo sugerencias, todo depende del tamaño de las telas que ustedes tengan, van uniendo y van formando todo.
Yo ayer estrené mi colcha y le puse en el centro “Mundo Fitness” decorada con flores para hacerla más única y especial. Desde hace tiempo la tenía en mi mente, pero por una cosa u otra no había podido cumplir mi deseo. Ahora pudo cambiar la vieja toalla por algo hecho con mis propias manos.
