Dar nueva vida a un artículo o producto que amamos es súper satisfactorio. Al menos yo estoy feliz porque podré seguir usando mi bolso de compra 🛒 preferido por durante un montón de tiempo más. ¡Ya te cuento con algunos detalles parte del proceso!

Giving new life to an item or product we love is super satisfying. At least I'm happy because I'll be able to keep using my favorite 🛒 shopping bag for a lot longer. I'll tell you in some details part of the process!
Hace unos días salí con mi hermana al mercado y ella me llamó la atención porque mi bolso de compras estaba feo y viejo. Yo le dije que reconocía que estaba feo, pero viejo no 😀. Me dió pena con ella y reflexioné al respecto, por lo que me decidí a renovarlo. Ya tenía en mente hacerlo desde hace tiempo, sin embargo entre una cosa y otra lo dejé pasar. El bolso sí es viejo realmente, lo elaboré con tela para hacer filipina para cocineros, es muy buena. El bolso se manchó porque metí una bolsa con carne e hígado de res y no lo lavé de manera inmediata. Lo mismo pasó con uno blanco que también tendré que renovar pronto.
A few days ago I went out with my sister to the market and she called my attention because my shopping bag was ugly and old. I told her that I recognized that it was ugly, but not old 😀. I felt sorry with her and reflected on it, so I decided to renew it. I had already had it in mind to do it for a while, however between one thing and another I let it go. The bag is really old, I made it with fabric to make Filipina for cooks, it is very good. The bag got stained because I put a bag with beef and beef liver in it and did not wash it immediately. The same thing happened with a white one that I will also have to renew soon.
Esta renovación ameritó tener a mano el bolso, las tijeras, el polvo para pintarlo, agua, gas y sal.
This renovation required having the bag, scissors, paint powder, water, gas and salt on hand.
Lo primero que hice fue retirar el aplique tejido que tenía cosido en uno de los lados del bolso. Como ven debajo del aplique se puede apreciar el color original de la tela 😂 si es viejo en verdad, el sol lo ha decolorado mucho. Mi hijo me pidió que hiciera la prueba de coloración con un ovillo de hilo pabilo para ver qué tal resulta, por eso verán un ovillo pequeño también incluído en el proceso.
The first thing I did was to remove the woven applique I had sewn on one side of the bag. As you can see under the applique you can see the original color of the fabric 😂 if it is really old, the sun has discolored it a lot. My son asked me to test the coloring with a ball of pabilo thread to see how it turns out, so you will see a small ball also included in the process.
Para teñir o pintar el bolso puse a hervir tres litros de agua. En lo que hirvió agregué el contenido del sobre de pintura en polvo para telas y tres cucharadas soperas de sal. Inmediatamente metí en el agua el pequeño ovillo 🧶 y le bajé la llamada a la hornilla. Allí dejé hirviendo a fuego muy lento por durante una hora. Siempre pasaba a remover suavemente el bolso y de vez en cuando sacarlo para escurrirlo en la misma olla y después devolverlo al agua.
To dye or paint the bag I boiled three liters of water. As soon as it boiled I added the contents of the sachet of powder paint for fabrics and three tablespoons of salt. Immediately I put the small ball 🧶 in the water and lowered the call to the stove. There I left boiling on a very low heat for about an hour. I always happened to gently stir the bag and from time to time take it out to drain it in the same pot and then return it to the water.
Una vez que hirvió por una hora lo retiré del fuego. Coloqué la olla cerca de la salida de la casa, hacia al patio para que el agua y el bolso enfriara a temperatura ambiente, seguí removiendo de vez en cuando hasta que enfrió totalmente.
Once it boiled for an hour I removed it from the fire. I placed the pot near the exit of the house, towards the patio so that the water and the bag cooled to room temperature, I kept stirring from time to time until it cooled completely.
Ya frío todo el contenido de la olla la llevé a la batea para enjuagar varias veces sin esprimir. Solo enjuagué tres veces porque ya el agua no salía de color negro (el color del polvo elegido).
Once all the contents of the pot had cooled, I took it to the pan to rinse it several times without squeezing. I only rinsed three times because the water was no longer black (the color of the chosen powder).
Sin esprimir tomé el bolso, lo coloqué en un gancho y lo guindé en la cuerda hasta que secó totalmente alejado de la luz del sol.
Without squeezing I took the bag, put it on a hook and hung it on the rope until it dried completely out of the sunlight.
Al siguiente día estaba ya seco el bolso, pero el ovillo continúa mojado por lo que después les haré otro post presentando el resultado final de la coloración del ovillo. Fíjense que el bolso quedó muy bien pintado, sin embargo resaltan los manchones que ya tenía el bolso y además las asas no se pintaron ¿por qué? No sé.
The next day the bag was already dry, but the yarn ball was still wet, so later I will make another post presenting the final result of the coloring of the yarn ball. Notice that the bag was very well painted, however the stains that the bag already had stand out and also the handles were not painted, why? I don't know.
Aproveché de remendar la nariz del picachú para luego volver a coserlo en su lugar de origen 😁 también remendé todas las orillas del bolso 👜 y de las asas. Me gustó mucho hacer esta renovación porque le tengo mucho cariño a este bolso, es muy cómodo. Lo uso para hacer las compras en el mercado y en los chinos. ¿Qué les parece este resultado? Creo que voy a comprar un nuevo sobre de pintura para renovar el blanco, ¿cuál color me recomiendan para pintarlo?

I took the opportunity to mend the nose of the picachu and then sew it back to its original place 😁 I also mended all the edges of the bag 👜 and the handles. I really enjoyed doing this renovation because I am very fond of this bag, it is very comfortable. I use it for shopping in the market and in the Chinese, how do you like this result?
