Tengo una maquina que es de costura recta que era de mi madre, y otra que compre cuando estaba embarazada de mi hija mayor, ya tiene unos cuantos añitos. Esta ultima ya no cose como antes, y aunque la he llevado para hacer mantenimiento y revisiones, coso en ella de vez en cuando cosos y telas simples.
Una amiga me presto su máquina, yo la llamo la ¡chica super poderosa! Porque cose muy bien, aunque también es un modelo viejo, y tiene unos cuantos años. Con esto quiero decirles que me pude a explorar con ella diversas puntadas.
En momentos solo usamos nuestras maquinas para las mismas funciones como costura recta, o zic zac, y así nos limitamos. Eso me pasaba a mí, en momentos no sabía que podía hacer ojales o bordados. Y también el uso de los pies de máquina que nos facilitan mucho las costuras y sus acabados.
Hoy quiero compartir que esta máquina, aunque no es bordadora como tal, tiene puntadas que sirven para decorar, y eso me encantó. Es tan fácil y hay que hacer pruebas según nos gusten.

I have a straight sewing machine that belonged to my mother, and another one that I bought when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter, it is now a few years old. This last one doesn't sew like it used to, and although I have taken it for maintenance and revisions, I sew on it from time to time simple sewing and fabrics.
A friend lent me her machine, I call her the super powerful girl! Because it sews very well, although it is also an old model, and it is a few years old. With this I want to tell you that I was able to explore with her different stitches.
Sometimes we only use our machines for the same functions like straight stitching, or zic zac, and so we limit ourselves. That happened to me, at times I didn't know I could do buttonholes or embroidery. And also the use of the machine feet that make sewing and finishing much easier.
Today I want to share that this machine, although it is not an embroidery machine as such, has stitches that can be used to decorate, and I loved that. It's so easy and we have to make tests as we like.

PROCEDIMIENTO:
Tomé un retazo de tela, y enhebré la máquina de coser con un color rojo. Busqué en las funciones de la maquina el indicador para las puntadas decorativas. Coloqué la tela e inicié a coser. Hice muchas pruebas que consistieron en cambiar la puntada, el ancho y el largo.
PROCEDURE:
I took a piece of fabric,and threaded the sewing machine with a red color. I looked in the functions of the machine for the indicator for the decorative stitches. I placed the fabric and started sewing. I did a lot of testing which consisted of changing the stitch, width and length.
Hasta que vi que debía de dejarlo en 1, para que rellenara bien la puntada. Otro detalle es que no avanzaba con rapidez, tenía que halar poco a poco la tela y dirigirla.
Until I saw that I had to leave it at 1, so that it would fill the stitch well. Another detail is that it did not advance quickly, I had to pull the fabric little by little and direct it.
En la prueba hice muchas puntadas, pero hice una cartuchera. Así que tomé tizas y elaboré líneas por donde pasaría la costura decorativa, hice unas en color rojo y otras en turquesa. Y me gusta de verdad como queda la puntada.
In the test I did a lot of stitching, but I made a pencil case. So I took some chalk and drew lines where the decorative stitching would go, I did some in red and some in turquoise. And I really like the way the stitching looks.
Con un cierre, y los demás materiales hice una cartuchera, para mostrar esta puntada decorativa y poder sacar todo el potencial de una máquina de coser simple.
With a zipper, and the other materials I made a pencil case, to showcase this decorative stitch and to bring out the full potential of a simple sewing machine.
