Happy Weekend, dear lovely friends on Hive, I hope your weekend is already going as expected.
Today, I put finishing touches to a two piece outfit i've longed want to have for myself, the trend of baggy trouser and shift blouses is yet to dee its end, and all the previous two piece of same style i've made in the past, are usually for someone else, the only one I managed to make myself once got taken over by my youngest sister after her two weeks visit, I don't blame her though, it's me that refuse to add weight to be far more bigger than her the way our age difference is as we both now wear same size now.
I'm not too worried though, rather happy that I have something my sister likes, also knowing that I can always remake another for myself, that is one of the sacrifices of being the eldest sister in the house. So I'm fulfilling my role happily. This fabric was gifted to me by my hubby after a long while of receiving such kind of gift from him, he knows i love being gifted new fabrics, after a little arguement, he finally thought of the best way to apologize throught this gifted ankara fabric, and I had no choice than to forgive, not that I wouldn't before, but a lady got to pretend to be angry. lol
Without further ado, let's get right into today's needlework project.

Cutting and Sewing process
- I started by drafting the trouser pattern, adding enough ease allowance since it's not a fitted pair of trousers.
*Then I proceeded to join the crotch area of both the front and back, then added pockets to their sides
- Next, I joined the sides by one inch and also the inseam area,
before hemming the base of the trousers.
- Continuing, I cut out the waistband of about 5 inches width and 2.5 inches on fold, the length was determined by measuring around the waistline of the trousers.
- To get a neat and perfect elastic band, just like the one you would find in readymade joggers, I sewed three lines across the waistband length, leaving half of a inch gap in between.
- Then, using this half-inch elastic which measures 4-5 inches less than my actual waist measurement, I cut out three pieces and passed them through the cases made on the band, securing both ends with a stitch
- Finally, I sewed the band to the waist of the trousers, and that completes the making process of this baggy trouser.
I paired it with this kimono blouse, forming a beautiful two-piece outfit, which can be worn to any casual occasion, because it is comfy and elegant. I hope this one lasts in my wardrobe, another of my sisters might be secretly viewing this post with one eye, ready to make a move to my house.
