Happy new week everyone,
Making baby dresses or outfit is something I haven't done in a while, although I do enjoy making little beautiful dresses for them, but since I've not had a little baby around since I had my last baby who is two years now, and I don't intend to get pregnant anytime soon haha, My needlework on baby dresses was put on pending.
Happily, a friend of mine who gave birth about six months back and lives far away in another city, awe have not seen each other for a long time informed me on her intending visit to my city this forthcoming week alongside her baby girl, so here I am dusting my sewing skills once again on baby's outfits. I haven't told her yet, but I intend to make some baby dresses as a gift for her little one, hopefully, I finish all projects I have in mind before their arrival.
For a start,I made a baby romper, this is one of the easiest baby outfit to make, and it requires very little fabric, even less than a yard. I have many left over fabrics from previous projects that I haven't found what to make use of them until now, and I'm very excited for the project I choose.
To make the romper, I started by drafting the upper side the pattern
Next, I turned the neckline and armhole with a bias strip and added a placket in the front opening, I will be adding buttons to this part later.
Moving on, I drafted the lower part of the romper which is a short, I sewed the crotch and inseam,
After which I joined the upper and lower side together, also creating a loop in the middle to pass the rope to help firm up the waistline.
Looking forward to my next baby outfit project, and my little guest coming next week, I can't wait to finally see them.
The #focusyourneedlework challenge has also helped me pay more attention to my picture quality and I love how I'm focusing more now😊, sometimes, we need a little push to be aware and get better on certain things. For this project, I choose to have a plain white background and have all attention on my needlework.
And that's all on my #needleworkmonday
