Hello, lovely creatives,
Wishing you all the best of the day and may all your heart desires be met.
One niche of fashion designing I love the most is making little girls' dresses, it not only gives them that princess look but makes them look adorable, sometimes I tell myself if I have to choose just one niche or particular outfit to make for the rest of my life, it would be making little princess's dress, I also have have a dream to own a kiddies fashion line someday, not only are they easy to make, we can also be flexible with the designing, and fabrics used, and most likely less time consuming compared to making adult dresses, as tome is Dr spent more on contouring to accentuate our curvy figure for a more perfect fit.
Today, I will be sharing with us the making process of a simple ball dress I made for a little girl in my neighborhood, a friend's daughter during the Christmas period, it is a very easy to make the dress, as I had earlier made her mum an outfit from same material, I always encourage mothers to make their little one dresses with same fabric, no matter how little the fabric left from making their own
dress, and it's always exciting for both mother and daughter what I make of the leftover fabric.
Materials used
- Cord lace fabric
- Satin fabric
- Tulle(veil net) material
- Matching thread
Cutting and Sewing Process
Step 1
I started by cutting out the upper side of the gown for both the front and back.
Step 2
Next, using the satin as the base of the lace dress, I turned it with its lining fabric and also attached a mini puffy sleeve
Step 3
For the lower part of the dress, I cut out two flares, one would be used to gather the tulle on, while the other would be like an inner lining
Step 4
I cut the desired length of tulle to complete the length of the dress after deducting its half-length
Step 5
I gathered the tulle on one of the cutout flare
Step 6
Finally, I joined the lower gathered part of the dress to the upper bodice of the dress, and here she is fitting her dress with a cute look.
Beautiful, isn't it?
For now, what I'm focused on is making as much designs as I can for little girls, and when I'm ready to launch, I would be introducing a collection that captures the enchanting essence of childhood. From playful and colourful patterns of fabrics and delightful textures, each piece will be crafted with love and care. Looking forward to making this dream a reality, I already feel it coming alive, unveiling of my dream kiddies fashion line, where every little girl can feel like the princess she truly is.
Thank you for joining me on this creative journey, and here's to making dreams come true, one stitch at a time.
