Hi, fellow hivers!
I am very happy to share that the Getting Hooked Workshop in Cebu was a success! Woohoo! I am over the clouds that it was pushed through because I honestly thought it would be a big fail. It made me super anxious and almost made my cryyy. Waaaaa.
We started sharing/promoting the Getting Hooked Workshop-Cebu 2 weeks before the set date. At first, I was feeling very positive about it, confident that there will be at least 2-3 people who will register. But more than a week passed by, we still haven’t received any sign-ups. I started bugging my friends to keep on sharing the workshop to others, boosted posts for the first time ever (both on Instagram and Tiktok!), and even reactivated my long-deactivated Facebook account (and felt anxious by doing so lol) just to spread the word even more. I was soooo close to giving up, but consciously shooed the thought. “Let’s not attract this negativity,” I reminded myself.
Guess what? 3 days before the workshop date, somebody availed the Bring-a-Friend Promo! It was a moment when I saw a string of hope; a ray of light. “We can do this!” I told myself. So I continued to promote the workshop and became more hopeful that we would get more sign-ups.
Then a day before the d-day, in the morning, another one was added to the list! I was feeling sooo grateful and happy! Later that day, my friend also decided to join. But the surprises didn’t end there. The night before the workshop, I received two IG notifications, just a few minutes apart. And yes, they both registered to the workshop!!!
Amazing, isn't it? I was feeling overwhelmed at this point, but in a good way. I couldn’t believe that we had not only 3, but 6 participants! First thing that came to mind was, “Ikaw talaga, Lord! Pinakaba mo na naman ako! Huhu Thank you!”
I just wanted to share this story to let people know that behind this successful workshop, there were challenges and moments of feeling down, and that’s what made it even more special and memorable. This part of the story made me more grateful and appreciative of the blessings and surprises given to me.

For those who don't know, The Getting Hooked workshop is a process-based workshop, that’s why we don’t have a specific project to work on during the duration of the event. Rather, we focus on the foundational knowledge and skills that would help each participant be able to make their preferred project on their own.
It was such a humbling experience. We celebrated even simply seeing how they improved the looks of their chains, how they got to control their tension better, or how they remembered some crochet terms! We even found joy at each other’s deformed squares/rectangles!
These small things are what make me want to continue facilitating crochet workshops for beginners. I love how it helps us appreciate our simplest achievement and improvement; helps us believe in ourselves; helps us persevere and trust the process.

Aaaaaa I can go on and on with how much I love doing what I do and being able to experience it with others. Hihi
Sooo, yes! I am proud to say that the Getting Hooked Workshop was a success… after almost going down the drain.
Thank you so much to everyone who believed, supported, and motivated me to keep on pushing forward!
Oh!!! Just wanted to give a shoutout to these two who flew from Manila to Cebu to support me (and to explore the island together!) I felt loved. hihi

Stay sane and safe!
Let's spread happiness.
