Hi there everyone it’s me Rhea again. And today I want to share another tutorial on how to make a mini rolled cake crochet.
Since I had shared to you all my first time in making rose blanket bouquet crochet the other day, I am now back with another crochet project and that is making mini rolled cake crochet.
It all started when I was just scrolling on YouTube watching funny videos and then suddenly a short video tutorial popped up on my feed -it was a tutorial on how to make mini rolled cake crochet, and since I am not lazy that time, I decided to grab my things and started to jot down the patterns on my notebook and then I watched a tutorial on how to make a mini rolled cake crochet. By the way this is the tutorial that I had watched, I really admired how she did it so smoothly, her projects are always so clean and neat, anyway her YouTube channel is lilthings and her voice is so good I swear you could easily understand her tutorials quickly.
And anyway, since I am done jotting down the pattern of this mini rolled cake, I then started to crochet the pattern. You can also choose what color you like for your project, I used brown yarn for the outer and white for the inner since I wanted to make it like a chocolate rolled cake. First of all I did the foundation chain, I just started it with a slip knot and then chain 40, by the way this is for the outer part or the brown yarn.
After chaining 40, I then started the round 1, I then made a double crochets in each stitch all across like this:
And then for the round 2, I made 2 chains and then again I made double crochets in each stitch again. And to lock the end make a slip stitch and then chain 1, pull the thread and cut.
And since I don’t want my project to be messy, I just hide the thread into the back of it like this:
Now that it is clean and done, I set the project aside and started to make the inner part or the white yarn.
The pattern is just the same as the outer part but the length is different from the outer part, since the outer part has 40 chains and for the inner part has 30 chains, but as you can see or if you’d noticed my notes, I did write there that the white layer or inner part has 27 chains because that’s what I saw on the tutorial, and since I want it to make it a little bit longer, I did 30 chains instead.So this is what’s look like compared for the 40 chains.
And again after chaining 30, I did 29 double crochets all across the stitch. And then turn to the other side, and made a double crochets all across each stitch again, and to fasten off, I did a slip stitch and chain 1 to close.
And then to make it clean, just hide the yarn into the back row.
Now that the outer part and inner part are done, I then made a cream top using white yarn. So to make a cream top, first, I made a magic ring and then made 6 single crochet into the magic ring, I pulled the yarn and make a 6 increases in each stitches, and by the way increase means making 2 single crochets into one stitch.
And this is what it looks like, and again to fasten off make a slip stitch and chain 1 to lock.
After making the cream top, I then grabbed another red yarn to make a strawberry into the cream top. So to make a strawberry, make a slip knot, chain 3, work with the 2nd chain and then make a 3 unfinished double crochet, and then to lock make a slip stitch and then chain 1 and cut the yarn.
Now that the strawberry is done I then made a leaf into the strawberry. First I did a magic ring, chain 4, skip 1, 1 and work with the 3rd stitch and make slip stitch and 2 increase into the next stitches.
Now that they’re complete I then used a glue gun to stick them together.
So first I put the outer part first and glued them together with the inner part like this:
And then I glued the top and rolled them.
And this is what it looks like, it looks really edible I could literally eat the yarn lol.
After that I glued the cream top into the top together with the leaf and the strawberry, too bad I didn’t took a picture of it while gluing the cream top and the strawberry since I am too busy for the mini rolled cake and I suddenly forgot.
And this is the final product, I swear it looks like so edible. By the way I also made a strawberry flavored one.
