Blessed Friday and Merry Christmas, maybe a little late, but faithful, I tell you that I have been quite busy these days, and presumably you too. These are days of sharing that involve a lot of preparations, yet we enjoy every moment.

Bendecido viernes y Feliz Navidad, quizás un poco rezagada, pero fiel, Les comento que he estado bastante atareada estos días, y es de suponer que ustedes igual. Son días para compartir que conllevan muchos preparativos, aún así disfrutamos cada momento.

Between dinner preparations and receiving a couple of friends at home, opening gifts and then tidying up, you can end up pretty exhausted, and in my case, with back pain. It's something that happens to me when I have a lot of physical effort and to be honest, I think I demanded more from my body than it can give, because I didn't sleep the night of the 24th tidying up. It is impossible for me to go to bed and leave the house untidy.

Entre los preparativos de la cena y recibir a un par de amigos en casa, abrir regalos y luego hacer orden, se puede terminar bastante agotado, y en mi caso, con dolor de espalda. Es algo que me pasa cuando tengo mucho esfuerzo físico y siendo honesta, creo que le demandado más a mi cuerpo de lo que puede dar, pues no dormí la noche del 24 haciendo orden. Para mí es imposible acostarme y dejar la casa desordenada.

Aparte, estuve el día 24 haciendo estás lindas ositas que les comparto hoy. Quería dárselas a Rafaella y a su amiguita Samantha, esa noche. Lastima que Samy no pudo venir, pero ya las tengo listas para su próximo encuentro. Ahora les comparto los detalles que no pueden ser más sencillos.

I made a pattern with the body and head together. This is something I decided to do since I made my first rag doll, because I think it looks much neater and more stable. I drew the limbs and ears separately. After cutting out all the pieces, we attach them to the fabric with pins and cut out the whole thing with the fabric folded to get the front and back at the same time. Then we sew, leaving an opening to turn the piece over and stuff.

Realicé un patrón con el cuerpo y la cabeza juntos. Es algo que decidí hacer desde que hice mi primera muñeca de trapo, pues creo que queda mucho más prolijo y estable. Las extremidades y orejas las dibuje aparte. Luego de recortar todas las piezas, las fijamos a la tela con alfileres y recortamos todo con la tela doblada para obtener los delanteros y traseros al mismo tiempo. Luego cosemos, dejamos una abertura para voltear la pieza y rellenar.

For the ears we cut a third piece in skin color that we place in the middle of the fleece fabrics and sew. We leave the opening at the bottom to turn around. And we will have a part of you in skin color.

Para las orejas cortamos una tercera pieza en color piel que colocamos en medio de las telas polar y cosemos. Dejamos la abertura abajo para dar vuelta. Y nos quedará una parte de estás en color piel.

For the dress, we cut two pieces with the shape of the body. We place them in the middle of the pieces that form the body and sew them together. We do the same with the ears, we fix them with pins in the middle of the two pieces that form the head, we place them in the upper part of the line facing the two sewing lines. We sew all the contour leaving the space to turn over and fill in and when we do the latter, the ears will be on the top and the body will be all lined.

Para el vestido, cortamos dos piezas con la forma del cuerpo. Las colocamos en el medio de las piezas que forman el cuerpo y las cosemos. Lo mismo hacemos con las orejas, las fijamos con alfileres en medio de las dos piezas que forman la cabeza, las colocamos en la parte superior de la línea confrontando las dos líneas de costura. Cosemos todo el contorno dejando el espacio para voltear y rellenar y al hacer esto último, quedarán las orejas en la parte superior y en cuerpo todo forrado

We make a simple skirt starting from two rectangles sewn on the sides, with an elastic at the waist, and a ribbon at the hem. I embroidered the squinted eyes with black thread and the nose with pink thread. It is not my best work. I have yet to learn how to do these details neatly.

Hacemos una falta sencilla partiendo de dos rectángulos cosidos en los laterales, con un elástico en cintura, y una cinta en la parte del ruedo. Con hilo negro bordé los ojos entrecerrados y de igual forma bordé la nariz con hilo rosa. No es mi mejor trabajo. Aún no aprendo a realizar estos detalles de forma prolija.

The girls will be very excited about the bears. I didn't want to give Rafa's one ahead of time because I want it to be something they will open together, as it will make it even more special. I say goodbye and wish everyone a happy Friday.
