When it comes to materials and techniques, there is never too much for a crafter. I don't know if it happens to you, but I almost always buy more material than I need, even so, I see something I don't have in my box of materials and rest assured I will look for the occasion to have it.

Cuando se trata de materiales y técnicas, nunca es demasiado para una manualista. No sé si se les pasa a ustedes, pero casi siempre compro más material de lo que necesito, aún así, veo algo que no tengo en mi caja de materiales y tengan por seguro que buscaré la ocasión de tenerlo.

When I bought the jute cord, I bought a piece of about five meters or so. It already came in that presentation, but after a few days, I went back to the store for something else and they had a large skein, and surprise, I also bought it, it is a little thinner than the one I had bought before, so I can use it for something different. Doing a bit of tidying up I stumbled across the jute and had seen several mini Christmas tree designs that I loved. I made my morning cup of coffee and organized the material to work with.

Cuando compré el cordón de yute, compré un trozo de unos cinco metros aproximadamente. Ya venía en esa presentación, pero pasados los días, volví a la tienda por otra cosa y tenían una madeja grande, y sorpresa, también la compré, es un poco más delgada que la que había comprado antes, así que puede servirme para algo diferente. Haciendo un poco de orden me topé con el yute y había visto varios diseños de mini árboles de navidad que me encantaron. Preparé mi taza de café de la mañana y organicé el material para trabajar.

I cut a piece of black cardstock to make the cone. You start with a circumference. Mine is 32 centimeters in diameter, and that measurement determines the size of the tree. We located the center, which would be 16 centimeters from the radius. We remove a part of the circumference, making two lines that form an angle of 60 degrees, also approximate. We roll and glue until we form the cone.

Corté un trozo de cartulina negra para hacer el cono. Se inicia con una circunferencia. La mía tiene 32 centímetros de diámetro, y esa medida determina el tamaño del árbol. Ubicamos el centro que estaría a 16 centímetros del radio. Retiramos una parte de la circunferencia, realizando dos líneas que forman un ángulo de 60 grados, también aproximados. Enrollamos y vamos pegando hasta formar el cono.

Line the cone with the jute ribbon. This will give us a better finish since I do not intend to place the jute strands in a dense way.

Forramos el cono con la cinta de yute. Esto nos dará un mejor acabado ya que no pretendo colocar las hebras de yute de forma tupida.

With the thick jute cord we cut portions of 8 centimeters. With hot silicone we glue the ends and form a drop. We glue all the drops on the thinner jute cord. I used 50 units for one meter of cord. Glue the cord to the cone. From the bottom up and in a spiral shape.

Con el cordón de yute grueso cortamos porciones de 8 centímetros. Con silicón caliente pegamos los extremos y formamos una gota. Pegamos todas las gotas en el cordón de yute más delgado. Utilicé 50 unidades para un metro de cordón. Pegamos el cordón en el cono. De abajo hacia arriba y en forma de espiral.

We make two five-pointed stars with cotton thread. In a magic ring we raise three chain stitches that replace the first high stitch. Then we make 14 high stitches and in total we have 15 stitches on the ring. Close with slip stitch and pick up 6 chains.

Realizamos dos estrellas de cinco puntas con hilo de algodón. En un anillo mágico se levantan tres puntos de cadenas que reemplazan el primer punto alto. Luego se realizan 14 puntos altos y en total tenemos 15 puntos sobre el anillo. Se cierra con punto deslizado y se levantan 6 cadenas.

In the first stitch we make a slip stitch, then a single crochet, a single crochet, a double crochet and we close with slip stitch leaving two stitches without knitting, so we get the first point. Repeat around the circle and we will have five points. The two stars are placed, one on top of the other, so we avoid the tips to roll up, and it is also more beautiful and with better structure.

En el primer punto se realiza un punto deslizado, luego un punto bajo, un punto alto, un punto alto doble y se cierra con punto deslizados dejando dos puntos sin tejer, así obtenemos la primera punta. Se repite alrededor del círculo y tendremos cinco puntas. Se colocan las dos estrellas, una sobre la otra y así evitamos que se enrollen las puntas, además queda más bonito y con mejor estructura.

With the jute cord that was left over at the tip, we cover a piece of stick height and on it, we glue the star that we have woven.

Con el cordón de yute que nos sobró en la punta, cubrimos un trozo de palito de altura y sobre él, pegamos la estrella que hemos tejido.
