ENG/ESP Crochet Capibara Satchel / Cartera Capibara a Crochet.

Blessings to all on this Monday of needles. Over the weekend I watched Flow, a movie that I highly recommend. It's about a little cat and his traveling companions, including a capybara, who survive a devastating flood. But I'm not here to give you a synopsis of the movie, but rather to tell you where the inspiration came from to make this cute little card.

Bendiciones para todos en este lunes de agujas. El fin de semana ví Flow, una película que les recomiendo totalmente. Se trata de un pequeño gato que junto a sus compañeros de viaje, entre ellos un capibara, sobreviven a una devastadora inundación. Pero no vengo a hacerles una sinopsis de la película, sino a mencionarles de dónde vino la inspiración para hacer esta linda carterita.

A capybara is a rodent, perhaps the largest in the world and perhaps also underestimated, but it has become a trend in the last year and perhaps the mentioned movie has something to do with it.

Un capibara es un roedor, quizás el más grande del mundo y quizás también subestimado, Pero se ha vuelto tendencia en el último año y quizás la película mencionada tenga algo que ver.

To make this purse we worked two rectangles, a longer one that will be the body of the purse and a smaller one for the top. The only difference is that the top is 40 stitches wide, while the body is 44 stitches wide. When joining the pieces we left two stitches on each side and the top will look a little narrower intentionally.

Para hacer este bolso trabajamos dos rectángulos, uno más alargado que será el cuerpo de la cartera y uno más pequeño para la tapa. Lo trabajamos toda en puntos medios altos y lo único diferente es que la tapa es de 40 puntos de ancho, mientras el cuerpo es de 44. Al unir las piezas dejamos dos puntos de cada lado y la tapa se verá un poco más angosta de manera intencional.

The legs, as well as the ears are made on circles of proportional sizes to the body. All done in a low x-shaped stitch and with crochet thread, which is thinner than macramé, which I used for the body.

Las patas, así como las orejas están realizadas sobre círculos de tamaños proporcionales al cuerpo. Todo hecho en punto bajo en forma de x y con hilo crochet, que es más delgado que el macramé, el cual utilicé para el cuerpo.

We put everything in its place with simple stitches. Making sure it is as neat as possible. We place the brooch with magnet between the lid and the body.

Colocamos cada cosa en su lugar con puntadas simples. Cuidando que quede lo más prolijo posible. Colocamos el broche con imán entre la tapa y el cuerpo.

We knit a ribbon of 7 medium high stitches in the thick part and I made a color change to darker brown to add contrast. We sew on the sides securing the seam very well.

Tejemos una cinta de 7 puntos medios altos en la parte gruesa e hice un cambio de color a café más oscuro para añadir contraste. Cosemos a los lados asegurando muy bien la costura.

I placed safety eyes because I didn't want to have seams on the inside of the bag. Now this cute purse is ready. It is comfortable, ideal for a little girl, but it can also be used by the not so little ones, in any case, it will look very pretty. Thanks for your company. Regards.
