As a tailor, Ive learned that every client's request has a story, and every cloth you make is unique.
So a customer came with an unusual color combo: Black and navy blue for his trousers.
At first, I hesitated. Black and navy? I wondered how those two will turn out in one piece considering they're both deep, dark tones and Ive never combined them before. I even have to ask him again if he was sure and he nodded confidently.
So I got to work anyway. I trusted the process—and the vision of my client. After all, satisfaction comes first.
I headed to the market to get the navy blue fabric since I didn't have it , and I knew I had to find the right shade, something that would compliment the black but still stand out in it's own way.
Once I got home, I started cutting the trouser carefully, and sewing and I was sure to pair both fabrics in a way that wouldn't feel forced or flashing, making sure the navy stood out in the right place.

As I sewed and saw the trouser get in shape, I started to see exactly what he had in mind. The contrast wasn't too loud, it was subtle and stylish. The navy blue added a quiet confidence to the bold black and it was lovely.
After I was done with the trousers I stood back and smiled, it actually looked really good

That moment I learnt that sometimes creativity lives outside the colors we're used to pairing. And sometimes we need to play with colors and see how amazing things can turn out. Oh yeah and sometimes a clients knows best!
So what do you think, did the trouser come out nice, do you love the combination? Let me know in the comments. Also have you made an unusual combination that turned out really nice before?
Thank you all for your time here, and see you next time 🤗
