Feliz lunes amigos de @needleworkmonday, espero que se encuentren muy bien, haciendo lo que más nos gusta, nuestros proyectos de aguja. Hoy feliz de volver a compartir con ustedes aunque sea un proyecto sencillo, ya que tengo prohibido usar mi máquina de coser debido a mi operación reciente y aunque el coser a mano no se me da muy bonito, realicé un pequeño proyecto para esas personas que le encanta leer libros.
En estos día de reposo, he estado leyendo un poco para distraerme, mi hija que es aficionada a la lectura me prestó uno de sus libros y diario ando buscando cualquier cosa que me sirva para marcar la página donde quedé, así que hoy me dispuse a hacer este útil proyecto, veamos este sencillo proceso.
Happy Monday @needleworkmonday friends, I hope you are feeling great, doing what we love the most, our needlework projects. Today I am happy to share with you again, even if it is a simple project, since I am not allowed to use my sewing machine due to my recent operation and although hand sewing is not very nice, I made a small project for those people who love to read books.
In these days of rest, I have been reading a little to distract me, my daughter who is fond of reading lent me one of her books and every day I am looking for anything that will help me to mark the page where I left off, so today I set out to make this useful project, let's see this simple process.
Escogemos de nuestros retazos unos bien llamativos. En mi caso usé un retazo fucsia y otro retazo estampado a juego. Del fucsia cortamos dos de 8 x 18 cm y del estampado cortamos uno de 8 x 30 cm.
We choose from our scraps some very eye-catching ones. In my case I used a fuchsia patchwork and another matching printed patchwork. From the fuchsia we cut two 8 x 18 cm and from the print we cut one 8 x 30 cm.
El retazo estampado lo doblamos enfrentando revés (esta pieza del marca libro nos servirá para guardar lápices y/o resaltadores) y lo colocamos sobre uno de los retazos fucsia, enfrentando derechos.
Fold the stampo piece backwards (this piece of the bookmark will be useful to keep pencils and/or highlighters) and place it on top of one of the fuchsia pieces, right sides together.
Luego colocamos encima de estas piezas 18 cm de elástico delgado en el centro y lo fijamos con alfileres para después colocar encima (enfrentando derechos) el otro retazo fucsia que tenemos sin usar.
Then we place on top of these pieces 18 cm of thin elastic in the center and fix it with pins to then place on top (right sides together) the other fuchsia piece that we have unused.
Vamos a coser por todo el contorno dejando un espacio sin coser, que será por donde voltearemos al derecho la pieza.
Damos vuelta al derecho y volvemos a hacer costura por todo el contorno, para cerrar el espacio sin coser y dar más firmeza al marcalibro.
We are going to sew all around the contour leaving a space without sewing, which will be where we will turn the piece right side out. We turn the piece right side out and sew all around again, to close the unsewn space and make the bookmark firmer.
Así tenemos este lindo marcalibro que nos sirve, además de marcar la página por donde vamos en la lectura, tiene un espacio para guardar un lápiz si queremos hacer anotaciones o también resaltadores si somos de los que resaltan palabras claves para usos posteriores.
This way we have this nice bookmark that is useful, besides marking the page where we are reading, it has a space to keep a pencil if we want to make notes or highlighters if we are the kind of people who highlight key words for later use.
Este proyecto me gustó mucho, como dije las costuras a mano no me salen muy bonitas pero todo es cuestión de práctica y espero mejorar en este tiempo, no pude dejar de comparar el tiempo de trabajo, en la máquina se hace en menos de media hora, pero a mano si me llevó mi tiempo, a las que son más expertas seguro es un paseo jajaja. Espero les guste esta útil idea amigos, a mi me encantó. Nos leemos pronto.
I really liked this project, as I said hand sewing is not very nice but it's all a matter of practice and I hope to improve in this time, I could not help but compare the time of work, in the machine is done in less than half an hour, but by hand it took me my time, to those who are more expert it is surely a walk hahaha.
