Hello hive,
Good day needlework Monday and my creative’s friends on hive how are you all today how is your weekend, happy new week to you all i pray this week is blessed for us all 🙏.
Today I will love to share this tutorial on how I made this beautiful straight Ankara gown with side pleating for my cousin.
I made this gown with 4 yards of Ankara fabric and 2 yards of lining
With zipper for the back she was supposed to buy a plain material for the side pleating but she said she didn’t have money and she wanted the styles the funny part is that while cutting the material I thought of using the lining to make the pleating I double the lining and it came out beautiful 🤩.
I firstly cut the the sket part of the gown then I measured the sket length to be 42” the hips is 11” folded plus sewing allowance after that I measure the waistline then cut out and place it on the fabric to cut the back and I folded 2” for the zipper allowance.
After cutting the sket part I cut out the upper part
The upper part is one sided off shoulder gown with a puff sleeve .
Sewing process
I added lace material to the front to beautify it and I used the lining to make the side pleating and the gown came out beautiful she look elegant when so wore it to church 🤗🥰.
The final look is so beautiful and she was so happy 😀🥰.
