Hello Hive
Happy new and creative Monday to us all. Its a beautiful new day and I woke pretty strong and healthy but the women sickness had to creep her way into my day. Regardless I want to make something beautiful and feel beautiful today. I have learnt that we feel more confident and feel good about ourselves when we look beautiful and dress in the like manner.
Women are unique creatures and all shades of beautiful. From having a natural beauty to still been able to have lots and lots of accessories that enhance such beauty.
I was reading a book yesterday that speaks about making Beauty your target a book that seems to guide women on how to stay beautiful always. All women are beautiful but not all women are fashionable the book had to teach me, aside been beautiful adding a touch of fashion to your beauty makes you appealing, attractive and friendlier in appearance.
We must learn to dress well, keep our bodies clean and free from offensive distractions that will keep people away from us. Aside being beautiful learn to add a touch of fashion go your look, it keep you elegant, ladylike and the beautiful being you are called to be.
Recently I knew that my fashion taste has changed, I love to add extra accessories and touches go my outfits. There are beautiful makeup items for women and of course beautiful head wear too.
Since it's compulsory to cover our hair in church I didn't want to remain with tying a scarf 🧣🧣🧣 continuously, I decided to try my skills at sewing women's head wear.
This one in particular I have found appealing for a while while a couple of my friends have gorgeously worn it with their outfits.
So here is a version of my own and it gave me the added touch of elegance I yearned for.
In order to sew this, I got the following materials here
Fibre
Calico
Lace applique
Needles and thread
To start with I measured my head circumference which is 22. Then I folded this fabric into two and added some stitching allowance.
The I measured out the mid point of it and cut it in a semic curved manner Next I measured out the calico that will make the Zara Cap standing tall and firm, that was achieved here.
Calico or collar stay can be used depending on choice. But if collar stay it must be the one with thickest quality.
After that I covered the calico with the fabric and pleated the excesses. This was done on the wrong side of the cap.
The ext step was to create a bow using fibre to make it thick and standing.
I cut out a rectangle of the fabric and then measured out fibre of thesame quantity and made the bow here.
This was then attached to the cap with a matching dry lace applique
Here goes the beautiful Zara Cap you can rock with any outfit
And if you are lucky to make black, gold or silver gone cap it can match majority of your outfits.
