Hello friends and fashion lovers, hope you're all good. I'm so happy for the last post about the rose tutorial and I'm so glad you all loved it.
Today is another tutorial of how I turned my skirt into a corset top that my sister wore to church on Sunday. I made the skirt early last year with the blouse but I tried wearing it to church on Sunday just for me to see that it is no longer my size. But I decided to pair the blouse of the skirt with a jean trouser to church. And I told my sister I won't wear this skirt again because it is not my size anymore. She told me I should use it and create something beautiful for her, so we could pair together. I told her that was a good idea.
I'm going to show you how I made this stunning corset top. If you can see the rose on the top, I made that – tutorial in my last post. I want to share it together with you guys here on the Needlework community. Let's get busy!!!
MATERIAL USED;
- Ankara fabric
- Lining
- Bra cup

HOW I MADE THIS BEAUTIFUL CORSET TOP
Sorry I didn't really capture every moment I made this corset because I was in a rush but I will break it down here for you guys .
Firstly, I had to sketch the style so that I won't forget the style that popped into my head.
I'm making used of a pattern paper so that I won't make a mistake ( Note: using a pattern paper first is very important before moving over to the fabric for cutting so that even if you make a mistake, you will know it is on paper not your fabric).
Let's move over to the pattern paper. I outlined my starting point, marked her shoulder to shoulder to her Bust Line, underbust, waist and hipline. I took every measurements on the pattern paper and cut the the paper. This was the outcome.
I placed the pattern paper on the fabric and cut it out (just like I said in the beginning, I didn't capture every moment while making this corset top). I placed the cut fabric on my machine and I will be making use of this bra cup.
I joined the fabric together with the use of my sewing machine and this was the outcome. I ironed the top.
I had to sew the bra cup on the lining, I saw this hack on TikTok and decided to try it out and it came out well. I love the way the cup popped out and gave it a very nice shape. So I joined the lining and the Ankara fabric together and sewed the rose on the corset top.
And guys, guess what? This was my final result.
My best part was the bust, it fitted her so well and because of the bra cup she didn't put on a bra and it's still came out beautiful. I snatched her waist to give this fitted look on her body. When she tried it on she said "it made my tummy look flat" and that she loved it. And I'm glad she does.
Thanks for reading and have a lovely night kisses 😘
