Hello everyone @needleworkmonday community.
It was a great weekend and i hope yours was enjoyable.
Today i am here to share with you the long flare skirt i made for my sister.
Early last month i got a call from her that in their choir, they are about to change their black skirt uniform from a straight cut skirt to a long flare gown skirt.
I was more than willing to help out by sewing it for her,she told me she will let me know when they are certain.
Happily two weeks ago she called that they were certain and they were to use it on first sunday of August.
So i went to the market i got a black colour fabric, thread and a black zip for her and i was set to work.
I had her measurements already since she visit more often and i decided to work with what i had.
The first thing i did was to place the fabric well
I took her waist measurement, then the length of skirt
Then for the back side of it,i folded it well and i put the zip allowance and cut it out.
I also cut out the band for the waist.i put stay on it and ironed.
At this point i noticed the length was too much because of the extra band i was to placed on top
So i decided to cut it out be two inches
After joining all the pieces together and the band i decided to fixed the zip which was the last thing i did and the skirt was ready.
Later in the evening my sister came for her skirt and she loved it so much.
I felt happy and satisfied that i was able to make her smile.
