Happy New Year to my fellow needleworkers, as we step into 2024, I'd like to talk about my goals and aspirations for 2024.
Reflecting on 2023, a year of growth for me but it was so uncomfortable. I got to a new stage in my life which is a good thing but the transition was mentally challenging and it slowed down all of my plans for 2023.
For 2024, my goal is to revitalize my brand and myself too. My brand has been on hold throughout 2023. Looking back to the goals I set for my brand this year, it is so unfortunate that I could not even achieve as little as ten percent of it. But I'm optimistic 2024 will be different and more productive for me.
I have been working on my first collection and I plan to release it early this year February hopefully.
The inspiration behind this goal is my passion for creating designs that are unique and comfortable to wear. Recently, most designers have sacrificed customers’ comfort for their design aesthetics
I believe we don't have to wear an uncomfortable dress to look elegant, we can wear a more comfortable dress too and still look elegant. Aside from my passion, I'm also inspired by other brand entrepreneurs who are pushing their businesses with dedication and hard work.
I also decided to add knitting and crocheting to my brand that why I took the opportunity to learn it while I was in camp. You might be wondering if is too much to combine. I know it can be too much but I’m planning to hire an assistant or maybe two to help me work towards my goal. I have always wanted to do everything thing myself but it would be so much better and efficient if I had a team to work with.
Beyond my brand goals, I have personal goals. I want to start an online course to gain more design knowledge. This goal will align both my brand and personal aspirations in the fashion industry. I believe fashion design is very interesting to learn and I want to learn all of it, yes, every aspect of it if possible.
I wish I had more time, I would love to go to a fashion school and learn everything from basic designing to textile designing. I have looked for a suitable course on Udemy or domestika, but I don’t know yet.
I would also love to learn the technological aspects of fashion design. The world is evolving and changing into a technological era, from which the fashion industry is not exempted. And It will be a big plus to my fashion design career.
In conclusion, all these goals are inspired by my passion to be one of the biggest designers and my plan to achieve them is to delegate my work by having a team, to keep on learning and praying.
I hope to achieve these goals in 2024. These are the two major goals I have for my brand and my fashion design career. These goals will serve as a stepping stone to my bigger goals in 2025.
