Wool has always been one of my favorites. Greek wool is rough, difficult to tolerate directly on your skin as a piece of clothing, at least for me, but perfect for other things like wall hangings, bookmarks, bags or pillows. It is stable and special, it has its own dynamic.
According to animism, everything is animated by spirits. I feel it strongly with wool, where the energy of the animal is present and works as a healing to me weaving with it and feeling it in my hands. Then it gives a beautiful energy to the place where you put it, especially if you like being surrounded by natural material.
The design started as a casual drawing on a paper, I liked it. It felt balanced, simple and playful. And I decided to weave it by using undyed wool - white sheep wool and brown sheep wool :)

Sometimes, the simpler the design is the harder it is to weave it. Diagonals are not an easy thing on the loom and if you are not very concentrated and count every line, it can get a bit curvy like mine. But this is also a reason I like it. It reflects my thoughts and my right to be lost in thoughts. It is what makes handmade things unique, you can't do the same mistakes, there is always space for different ones :)

Circles are also a hard thing when weaving. This is a small one, but heavy enough to push the bar down as it is falling :)
This is the last shape and now Ι only have to do the final lines and to take it off. That's a few more hours of work...
I think it will be nice hanging it from a branch, I hope I will find something to match nicely.
And while I am very patient during weaving, at the end I just can't wait to see it complete. Last lines are like a torture! This time I will have to wait. We are leaving for a short trip tomorrow and this one will have to wait for my return :)
Thank you so much for reading! I would love to hear what you about this piece :)
If you would like to know more about me this is my introduction post.
