A Snap Shot of Time
Some camera play time. It is a nice day outside today, with the exception of a pretty good solid wind. I'd guess around 10-15 MPH gust. We still have a ton of snow on the ground, and that makes for a very cold breeze.
I did not feel like going for a drive and spinning my wheels looking for out the window shots in the car, so I thought I would play with all my camera lens. The first one I did some minor editing on, I first cropped it out in a circle, then I rotated it to have a more normal look. (Okay so I really cropped and made it a circle so I could see what a circle picture would look like as a thumb nail on peakd).
I cropped and resized all the images to save some server space and also so it would not take to long to upload the pictures.
Taken on 4-6-2020 at 10:56AM
- f/25
- 4 Sec
- ISO 500
Lens 55-300 zoom
The colors are off, I did not bother to try and do any color corrections, and I did not use the flash.
So on with the Photo Play:
I have four camera lenses: A 55-300 Zoom, (used above), a standard 35 MM lens, a 10-20 MM Landscape Lens, and a 40 MM Macro Lens.
The next three images were all taken from the tripod and from the same distance, with the 35, the 10-20, and the Macro lenses.
First up is the 35 mm lens.
- F22
- 2 sec's
- ISO 500
This is the 10-20 MM lens. It has the best color representation.
- f/22
- .77 Sec's
- ISO 500
And here is the Macro Lens
- f/20
- 1.3 sec's
- ISO 500
As I mentioned all of those images were taken from a tripod, indoors, same location, same height on the tripod, only change was the lenses being swapped out with the camera still on the tripod so it would not move.
Final images. For these two I had to take the stool away and put the watch on the floor, and raise the tripod up pretty much all the way in order to get a focused shot.
- f/25
- 2.5 sec's
- ISO 500
- focal 125 mm

And the last zoomed in all the way. * f/25 * 4 Sec * ISO 500 * focal 300 mm

This is the image I cropped the circle one out of and rotated. I don't know how long ago that watch stopped, but even though I do not use it, or any watch any more I still like it.
So by now you are probably wondering what was the purpose, what did I want to learn or want to accomplish. Well I learned that color does not really come through, but then again, I already knew that. I know how far away I need to be from something when I use the zoom lens, (at least 6 feet, just like some other current 6 foot rule, but we won't dwell on that).
Color representation my 10-20 mm did the best, clarity of shot, a toss up macro verse the big zoom.
To be honest though I just wanted to make a post, so I decided to play with time. I almost was not going to post these pictures after reading and looking at @bdmillergallery post, he got a brand new old watch, a real beaut too, but then I saw @timsaid contest post MyPictureDay is back on Hive! Weekly Photography Contest
Also since this was all about the pictures, I wanted to know how to make small pictures like I did on steem, and now I know how, (thanks to @asgarth in peakd discord). The small watch picture is a link to @timsaid's contest page. here is the code:

Oh and I almost forgot to say, My Camera is a NIKON D7500, I am still learning a lot about it and photography in general.
