So what do you think that this guy was doing?
Yes, he was paint spraying a jet at the airfield for the air show. I will also take you for a helicopter ride in here.
The air show will take place over two days, 25 and 26 March and as usual there will be dramatic scenes in the skies. Formation flying, stunts and all kinds of tricks. It is a very popular show and sadly for us the Saturday tickets were sold out as only a limited amount were allowed according to the Covid rules. The good news is that I know the manager of the airfield and he might be able to sneak me in with my camera.
Otherwise we will have to go to the Friday late afternoon show.
The first 4 photos in the post are to show you the beauty of nature that surrounds the painter at work.
Right, here a helicopter was being gassed up. We are going for a ride.
The tanks were full and the bird was waiting for the passengers.
What? A soccer (football) team arrived to board.
The chopper lifted off with it's load and it cleared the jet that was being painted.
And finally there we go with all of us loaded and on our way to go and play in another town.
So, I hope that you have enjoyed the ride, but sadly the home team beat us, as our legs were shaky because of the helicopter ride. But not to worry as the home team must also come and play on our field and then we will get our revenge by hammering them :)
Did I tell you that I can also do spray painting, but I have never worked in such a beautiful area. It must be a sheer pleasure.
The wind was very whippy and I would rather have sprayed the jet inside one of the airfield hangars. But that guy seemed to know what he was doing and the wind did not trouble him. Maybe he was only spraying an under coat (primer) that will be sanded down before applying the finishing coat of paint.
And so there you have it and I hope that you have enjoyed the story and the pictures.
And That's All Friends!
