Greetings, dear community of creators who, like me, love to materialize our ideas in great DIY projects; On this occasion I come to share with you a small restoration project of a shovel that I use to work with construction materials. A month ago I stopped a construction project that I am doing in my house, because the hardware store that supplies me ran out of construction material; this week they told me that the construction material had arrived again, but I realized that the shovel I was using had been damaged the last day I worked.

Saludos querida comunidad de creadores que al igual que a mí nos encanta materializar nuestras ideas en geniales proyectos de bricolaje; en esta ocasión vengo a compartir con ustedes un pequeño proyecto de restauración de una pala que uso para trabajar con materiales de construcción. Hace un mes detuve un proyecto de construcción que estoy realizando en mí casa, porque se agotó el material de construcción en la ferretería que me surte; esta semana me avisaron que ya había llegado nuevamente el material de construcción, pero me di cuenta que la pala que estaba usando, se me había dañado el último día que trabajé.

In the patio of my house I had this other shovel in the process of oxidation carrying water and sunlight, I decided to repair it to be able to resume construction; I found this shovel to be more comfortable to work with, that's why I chose it before the other one that was damaged.

En el patio de mi casa tenía esta otra pala en proceso de oxidación llevando agua y luz solar, decidí repararla para poder retomar la construcción; esta pala me pareció que es más cómoda para trabajar por eso la escogí antes que la otra que se daño.

This was the handle to grab that shovel before it was damaged, it's made of a somewhat flexible plastic, but it looks resistant, it's the one I'm going to use to repair it.

Este era el mango para agarrar esa pala antes de que se dañara, es de un plástico un poco flexible, pero se ve resistente, es el que voy a usar para repararla.

To make the shovel more resistant and durable, I decided to use an iron tube, since the previous one I had broke, because it was made of wood; making it of iron ensures that I can work with confidence, without worrying that it will split again.

Para hacer la pala más resistente y duradera, decidí usar un tubo de hierro, ya que el anterior que tenía se partió, porque era de madera; al hacerlo de hierro me asegura que podré trabajar con confianza, sin preocuparme de que se vuelva a partir.

With the grinder make two holes in each end of the tube to be able to cross it with a screw and thus be able to join all the parts that are going to make up this tool.

Con el esmeril le realice dos agujeros en cada extremo al tubo para poder atravesarlo con un tornillo y así poder juntar todas las partes que van a conformar esta herramienta.

The plan was to put the screws in each end, but in the upper part I could not do it that way, since I could not insert the tube so deeply into the handle, but I still used the hole I made to weave a wire and so on. make sure the handle does not come off the tube.

El plan era colocarle los tornillos en cada extremo, pero en la parte de arriba no pude hacerlo de esa manera, ya que no pude introducir a tanta profundidad el tubo en el mango, pero igual usé el orificio que realice para entrelazar un alambre y asi asegurarme de que el mango no se despegue del tubo.

Now I have a new, more resistant blade, it is also a little longer than standard; after having used it I realized that with that length it is more comfortable for me to work; I am very happy to be able to resume the construction of my room, I will soon publish the final result. Ahora tengo una nueva pala mas resistente, también es un poco mas larga de lo estándar; después de haberla utilizado me di cuenta que con esa longitud me resulta más cómoda para trabajar; me encuentro muy feliz por poder retomar la construcción de mi habitación, pronto publicaré el resultado final.
