The wasp moth or in entomology has the scientific name Amata huebneri, is a species of moth belonging to the family Erebidae. This species was first described by Boisduval, in 1829.
The wasp moth also has another common name, the tiger moth, because it has an abdomen and tail that resembles a tiger's. The head is orange, the back and legs are black, and it has transparent windows on its wings.
This moth belongs to the category of insect pollinators because it likes nectar or flower essence. Similar to the butterfly, it has a proboscis which is useful for sucking nectar.
I have seen moths mating several times, just like butterflies, males will mate with females without facing each other, while their tails (read: genitals) are attached to each other. This species is often found in Indonesia, and parts of the Indo Australian tropics to northern Australia.
