Greetings, my dear creative friends of this community. I hope you are very well, in good health and well-being, and that you had the best day possible.
Yesterday, in addition to the joyful celebration of the birthdays of this half of the year, we had the joy of participating in a very special workshop. It was a beautiful surprise.
Everything started as usual, with hugs, laughter and that warm atmosphere that is already characteristic of our meetings. But this time, the library assistants had prepared a different gift for us: a creative workshop to make a flower, using nothing more and nothing less than a simple paper bag. At first it was hard to imagine how a flower could emerge from just any bag, but there was the magic and our hands were ready to create.
Saludos, mis queridos amigos creativos de esta comunidad. Espero que estén muy bien, con salud y bienestar, y que hayan tenido el mejor día posible.
El día de ayer, además de la alegre celebración de los cumpleañeros de esta mitad de año, tuvimos la dicha de participar en un taller muy especial. Fue una sorpresa hermosa.
Todo comenzó como siempre, con abrazos, risas y ese ambiente cálido que ya es característico de nuestros encuentros. Pero esta vez, los auxiliares de la biblioteca nos tenían preparado un regalo distinto: un taller creativo para hacer una flor, usando nada más y nada menos que una simple bolsita de papel. Al principio me costó imaginar cómo de una bolsa cualquiera podría surgir una flor, pero ahí estaba la magia y nuestras manos dispuestas a crear.
The materials we used were simple:
- Small paper bag
- Tall stick
- Crepe paper
The instruction was simple. We were asked to open the little bag, reach in carefully to bring the two sides together and then begin to gently twist. Slowly, as if it were a magic trick, a rose began to take shape. It was a moment of discovery and amazement that connected us with the joy of creating something beautiful, from the simple.
Then, with the rose already formed, we mounted it on a tall stick that we had been given, and with strips of crepe paper we made some leaves that gave it the final touch. While we worked calmly and with concentration, the assistants read us some beautiful poems. The reading, accompanied by a soft musical background, made the activity an even more special experience. Each verse caressed our souls as our hands moved in sync with the words and the music. The atmosphere was very welcoming.
Los materiales que usamos fueron sencillos:
- Bolsa de papel pequeña
- Palito de altura
- Papel crepé
La instrucción fue sencilla. Nos pidieron abrir la bolsita, meter la mano con cuidado para unir los dos lados y luego comenzar a girar suavemente. Poco a poco, como si fuera un truco de magia, comenzó a tomar forma una rosa. Fue un momento de descubrimiento y asombro que nos conectó con la alegría de crear algo bello, a partir de lo simple.
Después, con la rosa ya formada, la montamos en un palito de altura que nos habían dado, y con tiras de papel crepé hicimos unas hojitas que le daban el toque final. Mientras trabajábamos con calma y concentración, los auxiliares nos leían unos poemas hermosos. La lectura, acompañada por un fondo musical suave, convirtió la actividad en una experiencia aún más especial. Cada verso nos acariciaba el alma, mientras nuestras manos se movían en sincronía con las palabras y la música. El ambiente era muy acogedor.

It was an exercise in creativity and also relaxation. I felt very connected with myself, with my companions and with that magical moment. There was something very beautiful in the shared silence, in the looks of surprise when our flowers were taking shape, in the sighs when we heard a verse that touched our souls. I loved everything: the beautiful gesture of those who organized it, the simplicity of the project because of the materials we used and the delicacy of the moment.
In the end, we took home a flower, but also much more: inspiration, tranquility and a beautiful memory. And as I looked at my flower on the way home, I thought about how many beautiful things can be achieved when there is intention, love and a space to create like the one we shared in the library.
Fue un ejercicio de creatividad y, también, de relajación. Me sentí muy conectada conmigo misma, con mis compañeras y con ese instante mágico. Había algo muy bonito en el silencio compartido, en las miradas de sorpresa cuando nuestras flores iban tomando forma, en los suspiros al escuchar un verso que nos tocaba el alma. Me encantó todo: el gesto tan bonito de quienes lo organizaron, la sencillez del proyecto por los materiales que usamos y la delicadeza del momento.
Al final, nos llevamos a casa una flor, pero también mucho más: inspiración, tranquilidad y un lindo recuerdo. Y mientras observaba mi flor camino a casa, pensaba en cuántas cosas hermosas se pueden lograr cuando hay intención, cariño y un espacio para crear como el que compartimos en la biblioteca.
