Saludos, mis queridos amigos creativos, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un proyecto con material reciclado que hice hace unos días para mi hija. Tenía en mente hacer esta publicación el fin de semana pasado, pero esta última semana fue muy intensa para mí y no pude mantenerme activa en #Hive. Luego de un mes hospedada en un Airbnb, tocaba mudarme a un lugar permanente. Así que estuve atendiendo todo lo que implica una mudanza y haciendo las compras necesarias para acondicionar mi nuevo hogar.
Hacer este proyecto que hoy les muestro me gustó tanto por su sencillez y delicadeza que me entusiasmé e hice otro para mí. El proyecto que realicé fueron dos floreros, a partir de unos frascos de café instantáneo que Sofía tenía guardados, justamente pensando en mí, pues ella sabe que me gusta reciclar y que me gusta sacar provecho de todo lo que se pueda en casa.
Aprovechando que en este país abundan las flores y se pueden conseguir por todas partes, compré flores para mi hija. Aquí, hay muchas ventas que parecen jardines de tanta variedad, a lo largo de las avenidas, cosa que me encanta porque todo se ve tan bellamente adornado y colorido.
Greetings, my dear creative friends, today I want to share with you a project with recycled material that I made a few days ago for my daughter. I had in mind to make this post last weekend, but this last week was very intense for me and I couldn't stay active in #Hive. After a month of staying in an Airbnb, it was time to move into a permanent place. So I've been taking care of everything that involves a move and making the necessary purchases to set up my new home.
I liked making this project that I show you today so much for its simplicity and delicacy that I got excited and made another one for myself. The project I made were two vases, from some instant coffee jars that Sofia had saved, just thinking of me, because she knows that I like to recycle and that I like to take advantage of everything I can at home.
Taking advantage of the fact that flowers abound in this country and can be found everywhere, I bought flowers for my daughter. Here, there are many sales that look like gardens with so much variety, along the avenues, which I love because everything looks so beautifully decorated and colorful.
Hace unos días atrás, mi esposo y yo, nos detuvimos en una de estas floristerías que encontramos en nuestro camino para ir al apartamento de Sofi. Fuimos a visitarla para compartir un delicioso almuerzo al que, ella y su esposo, nos habían invitado. Quisimos llevarle unas flores para adornar ese día tan especial.
Entre tanta, belleza, escogí unas margaritas que habían pintado de hermosos colores, todos vibrantes y llamativos. Tonos de juventud y alegría. Me decidí por un ramillete de margaritas anaranjadas, fucsias, azules, casi violetas y verdes. Me pareció el más bello y delicado para mi hija.
Luego de la compra, nos fuimos con las manos llenas de naturaleza bella y mucho amor para Sofía. Al llegar, Sofi sacó uno de los frascos que ha estado reciclando para mí, y ahí puse las flores. Ese día quedé con ella en que debía hacer algunas compras para mis manualidades y, especialmente, para adornar el frasco que fungiría, a partir de ahora, como florero.
En mi última publicación, en esta creativa comunidad, les conté de mis compras. Ese día compré el material necesario para adornar el nuevo florero. Así que teniendo todo lo que necesitaba, me puse manos a la obra y he aquí el resultado que les muestro con mucho cariño.
A few days ago, my husband and I stopped at one of these flower shops we found on our way to Sofi's apartment. We went to visit her to share a delicious lunch that she and her husband had invited us to. We wanted to bring her some flowers to decorate that special day.
Among so much beauty, I chose some daisies that had been painted in beautiful colors, all vibrant and striking. Shades of youth and joy. I decided on a bouquet of orange, fuchsia, blue, almost violet and green daisies. I thought it was the most beautiful and delicate for my daughter.
After shopping, we left with our hands full of beautiful nature and lots of love for Sofia. When we arrived, Sofi took out one of the jars she has been recycling for me, and I put the flowers in it. That day I agreed with her that I had to do some shopping for my crafts and, especially, to decorate the jar that would serve, from now on, as a vase.
In my last post, in this creative community, I told you about my shopping. That day I bought the material needed to decorate the new vase. So, having everything I needed, I got down to work and here is the result that I show you with much affection.

Flores para Sofía es el nombre que se me ocurre darle a estas fotografías en las que aparecemos con la alegría y la belleza que nos procura la naturaleza. Amo contemplar, admirar y agradecer siempre todo lo que me rodea, pues me conecta con lo mejor de este planeta y me recarga de una energía vibrante y positiva.
Flowers for Sofia is the name I have come up with for these photographs in which we appear with the joy and beauty that nature provides us. I love to contemplate, admire and always be grateful for everything that surrounds me, because it connects me with the best of this planet and recharges me with a vibrant and positive energy.
Los materiales que usé para hacer este proyecto fueron pocos, realmente. Como ya tenía una idea de lo que quería, fui a buscar precisamente lo que necesitaba: una cinta de yute, adornada con encaje blanco y unos cordones para manualidades de colores crudos. Me gusta mucho el estilo campestre y vintage que da el yute.
The materials I used to make this project were few, really. Since I already had an idea of what I wanted, I went looking for precisely what I needed: a jute ribbon, embellished with white lace and some ecru colored craft laces. I really like the country and vintage style that jute gives.
Corté un pedazo de yute que alcanzara para rodear todo el cuerpo del frasco y lo pegué.
I cut a piece of jute long enough to go around the entire body of the jar and glued it on.
Luego, corté un pedazo de cordón de color marrón que escogió Sofi para adornar.
Next, I cut a piece of brown cord that Sofi chose to embellish.
Y para dar el acabado final, le pequé un botón de madera que le dio un toque especial.
And to give the final finish, I glued a wooden button that gave it a special touch.
Así quedó adornado este florero, sencillo, pero muy bonito. Me encantó.
This is how this vase was decorated, simple, but very pretty. I loved it.

Les muestro el florero que hice para mí. Compré margaritas amarillas para poner en él y adornar mi nuevo hogar. Como detalle para el acabado final, hice un lazo con los tres colores de cordones.
I show you the vase I made for myself. I bought yellow daisies to put in it and decorate my new home. As a finishing touch, I made a bow with the three colors of cords.
