This is a little project that was on my "to do" list for a while now. I finally manage to build the first prototype that will be tested watering our Bamboo nursery. if the results turn out as I hope they would I would replicate for other parts and also for my own consumption.
all the components are simple and cheap off the shelf items. pretty straight forward.
the trickiest part is to properly establish the length of the central pipe. not easy to measure since it is interior. what I ended up doing is cutting it slightly longer and once in place I measured the gap between the cap and the transparent housing.
turned out to be exactly 26cm. I could of course have measured a standard filter element but only thought of that once I was on the way home, too late..
once the right length is established, I move on to glue the tube to its union.
the bottom side of the pipe, gets some holes drilled through it to allow for the water to flow back up and out of the housing. I drilled 8 x 5mm holes and with use, I might have to add more to allow for more flow.
all pieces ready for mounting. Teflon on the threads and tightening.
in the next part I will show what goes in the housing. to be continued. stay tuned.
