Hello everyone
I bring you greetings today in this great community @hivediy and I hope you all are doing great, to all creative friends and members of hive, I wish you the very best of today. It is my pleasure today to share with you the making of this small pouch designed with two different fabrics for my little niece for the purpose of keeping her little bracelet.
I will say my little nice is my motivator, she so believes that whatever she asked of me as far as sewing is concerned, she will get and this has really motivated me to go extra length for her to make whatever she wants and in the other way, it has helped my creativity.
Recently, my niece complained of how she has misplaced one of her bracelets and blamed it on the fact that she doesn't have a safe place for keeping them and she jokingly asked me if she can get a bag for the others just like I usually make things for her with fabrics, I smiled but didn't have anything in mind at the moment but when I got home, I thought of what to make and I decided to make this simple pouch for her.
Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process
I cut out 2 pieces of circle with the diameter of 8" with interfacing ironed on it
The circle was used to cut out 2 pieces of lining as well
I placed one lining on the main fabric and sew it round, leaving an opening where it can be turned inside out and it was repeated on the other circle.
It was turned inside out, ironed and top stitched round, then I placed the two circles together, lining to lining
I measured 1.5" down from the edge, rule a straight line down, i sew on the straight line and it was folded backward before it was sewn down on both sides
At the top, I measured 1.5" flip it backward and it was sewn down as well leaving the other side
Both sides of the circle were sewn together and it was turned to the wrong side where I measured 1.5" and sew on the edges to give it a sitting bottom.
It was turned to the right side and I used my hand needle and thread to fix a pressing button on both sides to secure the items in it.
This is the final outcome and I'm sure my niece will be so glad to have her little bracelet kept in it.
