I have made a scale sculpture of Batman, this Batman is based on the Arkham saga video games, one of my favorites, due to design and history, and in terms of design, Batman's suits are too cool. I searched the internet for reference images until I found Hot toys, the most famous and expensive character collectibles since they work with an impressive level of detail. In this video game saga, Batman uses a very tactical suit that is very different from what It had been seen in comics and also in some Live Action movies, I used a total of 20 cans which took me many months to put together. Hola amigos, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien, hace tiempo que no realizaba piezas elaboradas con latas de aluminio por lo que hice un proyecto que quiero compartir con ustedes. Comencé el día 21 de octubre de este año y finalicé hoy, dedicaba horas nocturnas para poder completarlos mientras en el día me dedicaba a otras tareas, se podría decir que este trabajo fue mi aliciente en cuanto al estrés que me generaba hacer otras cosas por lo que disfrute mucho su construcción. He realizado una escultura a escala de Batman, este Batman está basado en los videojuegos de la saga Arkham, uno de mis favoritos, por diseño e historia, y en cuanto a diseño, los trajes de Batman son demasiado geniales. Busqué en internet imágenes de referencia hasta que di con los Hot toys, los coleccionables más famosos y caros de personajes ya que trabajan con un nivel de detalle impresionante, en esta saga de videojuegos Batman usa un traje muy táctico que se aparta muchísimo de lo que se había visto en los cómics y también en algunas películas Live actions, utilicé un total de 20 latas las cuales me tomaron muchos meses poder reunirlas. en cuanto a las plantillas utilicé las de un un canal de Youtube, el mejor de todos y del cual he aprendido mucho ya que amablemente comparte sus plantillas, sus trabajos son de un acabado insuperable y me declaro su mayor fan, tomé sus plantillas a las cuales les hice mi modificaciones para convertirlo en Batman. As I had mentioned before, I did a whole collection of cans, for several months, since I have many projects in mind, and I started with this Batman figure which took me a total of 20 aluminum cans, which of course I cut and turned into thin sheets from which I would take each piece to assemble the entire sculpture in general. I downloaded the templates from the previous link, which are templates to create robots that the user has converted into Iron Man and many other famous comic book characters, in this case I took them to convert them into Batman by adding new things.
Como les había mencionado antes hice toda una recolección de latas, por varios meses, ya que tengo muchos proyectos en mente, y arranqué con esta figura de Batman la cual me llevó en total 20 latas de aluminio, las cuales por supuesto corte y convertí en finas láminas de donde sacaría cada pieza para armar toda la escultura en general. Las plantillas las descargué del link anterior, las cuales son unas plantillas para crear robots que el usuario ha convertido en Iron Man y muchos otros personajes famosos de los cómics, en este caso yo las tomé para convertirlas en Batman agregándole nuevas cosas.

I printed the templates and organized them into parts to start, in this case they are the chest, neck and back. As you can see, I stick the template on the aluminum sheet and with the scissors I cut the pieces. In the parts where the lines are drawn, I bend them there but using a pen to sink the can, then with a clamp I mold it to give it the shape that is drawn on the template. Here you can see what part of the trunk of the body looks like, such as the chest, abdomen, back and neck.
Imprimí las plantillas y las ordené por partes para comenzar, en este caso son el pecho, el cuello y la espalda. Como pueden ver, pego la plantilla sobre la lámina de aluminio y con la tijera voy cortando las piezas. En las partes donde están dibujadas las líneas, ahí las doblo pero utilizando un bolígrafo para hundir la lata, luego con una pinza la moldeo para darle la forma que está dibujada en la plantilla. Aquí pueden ver como queda parte del tronco del cuerpo, como lo es el pecho, abdomen, la espalda y el cuello.

En el siguiente apartado hice la cintura y los brazos, aquí cometí varias equivocaciones porque me costaba mucho hacer que se pareciera a los brazos de Batman, por lo que tuve que idear piezas nuevas las cuales agregarle y así lucieran como los brazos del caballero de la noche. Las plantillas traen un sistema para que la figura pueda mov er sus extremidades, yo se las eliminé porque mi deseo era hacerla en una sola posición.

Después comencé con la parte superior de las piernas, estas también poseen un sistema de movimiento para que las piernas puedan moverse hacia adelante y también hacia atrás, de ifual forma las eliminé para dejarlas estáticas. Corte y uní las piezas con pegamento hasta dejar secar muy bien, y luego de que este firme las uní al resto del cuerpo, pueden observar como ya va tomando forma la figura de Batman.

The second part of the legs would be from the knee to the feet, in the part of the kneecap it also has the movement system, which I did and consists of some holes through which a small piece of wood passes through that serves as an axis and This way he can move, I did it because my idea is that he can open his legs a little to be able to put him better on the final base. As you can see I made everything down to the boots, in the end when I put them in place you could see the figure and its size, although the mask was still missing.
La segunda parte de las piernas sería desde la rodilla hacia los pies, en la parte de la rótula también tiene el sistema de movimiento, el cual si lo hice y consta de unos agujeros por donde atraviesa una pequeña pieza de madera que sirve como eje y así puede moverse, lo hice porque mi idea es que pueda abrir un poco las piernas para poderlo poner mejor en la base final. Como pueden ver hice todo hasta las botas, al final cuando las puse en su lugar podía verse la figura y su tamaño, aunque aún le faltaba la máscara.

One of the parts that I liked the most and that I really enjoyed doing was making the hands, since each finger is independent and the hand can open and close, after making each finger I attached it to a piece of metal wrapped in paper, so that each finger can move. Then I put an aluminum sheet to cover it and finally I placed it on each arm, the result was incredible.
Una de las partes que más me gustó y que disfruté mucho hacer fue hacer las manos, ya que cada dedo es independiente y la mano puede abrir y cerrar, luego de hacer cada dedo lo uni a una pieza de metal envuelta en papel, para que cada dedo se pueda mover. después le puse una lámina de aluminio para cubrir y por último lo colocqué en cada brazo, el resultado fue increíble.

No less important is the mask which is far from being the same as the template to which I had to add the bat ears and I painted in parts, after completely assembling it I painted it all to see how it looked, the result was something great . I painted the entire mask because making the lips and chin part with this material is almost impossible, so I painted the mask like other Batman models such as Batman from the Future which is all black.
No menos importante es la máscara la cual dista mucho de ser igual a la plantilla a la que tuve que agregarle la sorejas de murciélago y fui pintando por partes, luego de armarla por completo la pinté toda para ver como lucía, el resultado fue algo genial. Pinté toda la máscara porque hacer la parte de los labios y la barbilla con este materíal es casi imposible, así que pinté la máscara como otros modelos de Batman como por ejemplo Batman del futuro la cual es toda negra.

The next step was to paint the entire armor, in this case I used glossy black spray paint, although later I thought it would have been better to use matte black. But it doesn't matter, I started painting, but not before covering some parts of the armor with paper since those areas did not need to be painted but would remain the color of aluminum. After putting 3 layers of paint and letting it dry very well, I began to remove the paper so that the unpainted parts were visible.
El isguiente paso ya tocaba pintar toda la armadura, en este caso utilicé pintura en aerosol color negro brillante, aunque luego pensé que habría sido mejor utilizar negro mate. Pero no importa, comencé a pintar, no sin antes cubrir algunas partes de la armadura con papel ya que esas zonas no necesitaban ser pintadas sino que quedarían del color del aluminio. Luego de poner 3 capas de pintura y dejar secar muy bien comencé a remover el papel para que quedara a la vista las partes sin pintar.

Another important thing was to make the chest with the shield since in Batman the Arkham Knight sports one with a very futuristic design.
Luego de armar toda la armadura comencé a hacer los accesorios de Batman, especialomente sus artilugios de batalla que nunca faltan como el baticinturon y el batarang, armas que sirven para desarmar a sus enemigos. Otra cosa importante fue hacer el pecho con el escudo ya que en Batman el Caballero de Arkham este luce uno con un diseño muy futurista.

I made two Batarangs in total, I thought it was very cool that he carried one in each hand, I made the cape with a piece of synthetic leather, I made two cuts that I joined in the middle, making the cuts that Batman's cape has on the edge. Lastly, I made a wooden base, which I sanded and polished very well to put sealing varnish on it, I added a column to serve as support and thus hold the figure well to pose, after all this hard work of more than a month This is how Batman the Arkham Knight was finished.
Hice dos Batarang en total, me pareció muy cool que llevara uno en cada mano, la capa la hice con un trozo de cuero sintético, hice dos cortes que uní por la mitad, haciendo en el borde los cortes que tiene la capa de Batman. De último lugar hice una base de madera, la cual lijé y pulí muy bien para ponerle barniz sellador, agregué una columna para que sirviera de apoyo y así sujetar bien la figura para posar, después d etodo este arduo de trabajo de más d eun mes así quedó finalizado Batman el caballero de Arkham.

What did you think of the result? Obviously it is far from being 100% the same as the original model but I tried to preserve the essence of the character by making the same details and adding all those accessories, for me it was a satisfactory job where I felt very comfortable, especially because throughout this year I had not made such a complicated piece, I hope you liked it. Qué les ha parecido el resultado? sé que la publicación es algo larga, pero créanme que resumí mucho la información, pueden apreciar el proceso paso a paso y el trabajo de más de un mes, pero el resultado fue genial. Obviamente dista mucho de ser igual 100% al modelo original pero traté de conservar la esencia del personaje haciendole los mismos detalles y agregándole todos esos accesorior, para mi fue un trabajo satisfactorio donde m,e sentí muy a gusto, especialemnte porque en todo este año no había realizado una pieza tan complicada, espero que les haya gustado. No olviden comentar que les ha parecido, y más si son fans del caballero de la noche. Me despido y espero volver muy pronto.
