Hace poco terminé un proyecto que me encantó: una mantita tejida con lana bulky de la marca revesderecho. Estas lanas son acrílicas, súper suavecitas y bien gruesas, perfectas para mantas. Apenas vi los colores, supe que tenía que hacer algo con ellas, aunque estuviera haciendo un calor infernal en mi ciudad, ya que estamos en Verano. A veces, las ganas de tejer llegan cuando menos lo esperas, además puede usarse está mantita en Otoño o Invierno.
La idea era hacer un pie de cama, o para esos días en los que quieres taparte, cuando vas a ver televisión al sofá. Me encantó trabajar con esta lana porque es bien práctica y, como es gordita, el tejido avanza rapidísimo. Además, el acabado queda con un volumen precioso, así que luce increíble donde la pongas.
No tenía muy claro qué iba a hacer con la manta, pero cuando mi mamá la vio, le brillaron los ojos. Le gustó tanto que terminó comprándomela. Fue uno de esos proyectos relajados, sin presión, solo tejiendo por el gusto de hacerlo. Ahora la tiene en su cama, y yo feliz de que haya quedado en buenas manos.

I recently finished a project that I absolutely loved: a small blanket made with bulky yarn from the brand revesderecho. This yarn is acrylic, super soft, and really thick—perfect for blankets. As soon as I saw the colors, I knew I had to make something with them, even though it was scorching hot in my city since we're in summer. Sometimes, the urge to knit comes when you least expect it! Besides, this little blanket can be used in fall or winter too.
The idea was to make a bed runner or something cozy for those moments when you want to snuggle up while watching TV on the couch. I loved working with this yarn because it’s super practical, and since it’s thick, the project works up really fast. Plus, the texture gives it a beautiful volume, making it look amazing wherever you place it.
At first, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with the blanket, but when my mom saw it, her eyes lit up. She loved it so much that she ended up buying it from me. It was one of those relaxed projects, no pressure—just knitting for the joy of it. Now, it’s on her bed, and I’m happy that something made with so much love has found a special home.

Lo primero que hice fue tejer 150 cadenas con lana Bulky en color rosa, más dos cadenas adicionales para empezar. A partir de ahí, comencé la segunda fila, ya que la primera está formada únicamente por las cadenas. En esta segunda fila trabajé todo en medios puntos altos, cuidando que el tejido quedara uniforme.
Levanté tres cadenas para girar el trabajo y comenzar la tercera fila. En esta fila, me salté un punto y trabajé medios puntos altos, creando pequeños huecos. Mientras el tejido crece, fuí intercalando filas: en una fila hice solo medios puntos altos y en la siguiente, me salté un punto, logrando un diseño bastante bonito.
The first thing I did was crochet 150 chains using bulky yarn in pink, plus two extra chains to start. From there, I moved on to the second row, since the first one is just the foundation chains. In this second row, I worked entirely in half double crochet stitches, making sure the fabric stayed even.
I chained three to turn the work and start the third row. In this row, I skipped one stitch and continued with half double crochet, creating small gaps. As the piece grew, I alternated rows: one row with only half double crochet stitches and the next with skipped stitches, creating a really nice pattern.

Después solo me quedo repetir el patrón, hasta alcanzar el largo que deseaba. Pero esa solo es la primera parte del tejido ya que luego, por las orillas, continué tejiendo con un color de lana bulky azul petróleo, lo que hizo que la manta tuviera dos colores y se viera mucho más bonita.
Para tejer por el borde, tomé la lana y comencé con una cadena que introduje en uno de los puntos de la lana rosa. Después, levanté otra cadena y trabajé medios puntos altos por toda la orilla. En la segunda vuelta, hice puntos altos y, en la tercera vuelta, puntos altos dobles. Al final, para la cuarta vuelta utilicé lana rosa para hacer solo puntos bajos por todo el borde. Para finalizar, rematé con un punto deslizado, y escondí las puntas de lana. Como utilicé 14 ovillos, tuve que hacer nudos, lo cual no me gusta hacer, pero dado el grosor de la lana, preferí hacerlo para que no se deshiciera. Realmente quedó muy bonito. A mí me encantó, y a mi mamá también, ya que le gustó tanto que me la compró.
Quizás dirán, ¿y porque no se la regalaste?, pues solo le cobre la mitad, porque todas esas lanas me salieron caras 😞😁.
Then, I just had to repeat the pattern until I reached the length I wanted. But that was only the first part of the project! After that, I worked around the edges using bulky yarn in a petroleum blue color, which gave the blanket a two-tone look and made it even prettier.
To crochet the border, I took the yarn and started with a chain, which I inserted into one of the stitches in the pink section. Then, I chained one more and worked half double crochet stitches all around the edge. For the second round, I used double crochet stitches, and in the third round, I did double treble crochet stitches. Finally, for the fourth round, I switched back to pink yarn and did single crochet all around the border. To finish, I secured it with a slip stitch and tucked in the yarn ends.
Since I used 14 skeins of yarn, I had to make knots—which I don’t like doing—but given the thickness of the yarn, I preferred it that way to make sure everything stayed in place. The blanket turned out really beautiful! I loved it, and so did my mom—she liked it so much that she bought it from me.
You might be wondering, Why didn’t you just give it to her as a gift? Well, I only charged her half the price because all that yarn was expensive! 😞😁
