Contest: Patchwork World [ESP-ENG]

Buenos amigos de Hive Diy, esta es mi participación en el concurso de Patchwork. Me gusta mucho hacer manualidades, principalmente las que tienen costuras, desde que vi el concurso comencé a pensar que haría y como me gusta mucho hacer manualidades que sean útiles, me decidí por unas agarraderas para la cocina, porque no existe cocina que no las tenga y decidí aplicar esta técnica a un par de ellas.
Busque varias piezas de tela que sean resistentes porque esta manualidad lo requiere y puse manos a la obra. Comenzaré describiendo los materiales que usé y los pasos para obtener el producto final.

Good friends of Hive Diy, this is my participation in the Patchwork contest. I really like doing crafts, especially those that have seams, since I saw the contest I started thinking what I would do and since I really like doing crafts that are useful, I decided on some pot holders for the kitchen, because there is no kitchen that doesn't have them and decided to apply this technique to a couple of them.
Find several pieces of fabric that are resistant because this craft requires it and I got to work. I'll start by describing the materials I used and the steps to get the final product.

Tengo dos moldes cuadrados para hacer las agarraderas de cocina, uno que mide 14 x 14 cm y el otro 12 x 12 cm, más un molde de corazoncito de unos 3 cm de ancho y largo para decorar. El molde cuadrado más pequeño es para el relleno, que siempre es más pequeño que el tamaño de las agarraderas.

I have two square molds to make the kitchen pot holders, one that measures 14 x 14 cm and the other 12 x 12 cm, plus a heart mold about 3 cm wide and long to decorate. The smallest square pan is for the filling, which is always smaller than the size of the pot holders.

Usando el molde pequeño, recorté la tela que voy a usar como acolchado, que son las piezas de un cobertor de cama. Recorté 4 cuadrados para cada agarraderas para que queden bien acolchados.

Using the small mold, I cut out the fabric that I am going to use as padding, which are the pieces of a bed cover. I cut out 4 squares for each pot holder so they are well padded.

Por el molde más grande recorto 2 cuadrados completos de la tela beige que será la parte de atrás y 2 para alante pero que tendran el mismo largo pero de ancho solo 10 cm.

Using the largest mold, I cut out 2 complete squares of the beige fabric that will be the back and 2 for the front but that will have the same length but only 10 cm wide.

De la tela estampada se recorta la dimensión de 4 cm por los 14 de largo para con ello completar el cuadrado de la parte de alante. Además se recortan de esa misma tela dos franjas de 3 cm de ancho y 10 cm de largo.

From the printed fabric, the dimension of 4 cm by 14 cm is cut to complete the square of the front part. In addition, two strips 3 cm wide and 10 cm long are cut from the same fabric.

A continuación, de la tela roja, corta 2 corazones que se incrustarán y servirán como decoración.

Next, from the red fabric, cut 2 hearts that are to be embedded and serve as decorations.

Teniendo todo recortado comensales a unir las piezas en la máquina de coser, primero tomó 2 piezas de relleno y las uno con la parte del fondo de las agarraderas haciendo unas costuras transversales que quedan en forma de cruz (X), para fijar el relleno y luego no se corra.

Having everything cut out, we began to join the pieces on the sewing machine. First, take 2 pieces of padding and join them with the bottom part of the handles, making transverse seams that remain in the shape of a cross (X), to fix the padding and then don't run.

Con la parte delantera lo primero que se hace es hilvanar la banda de 3x10 cm procurando que los bordes queden hacia adentro, luego se cosen a máquina comenzando por fijar un lado y luego el otro, doblando el extremo hacia adentro para que no se deshilache.

With the front part, the first thing that is done is to baste the 3x10 cm band ensuring that the edges are inwards, then they are sewn by machine starting by fixing one side and then the other, folding the end inwards so that it does not fray.

A continuación se cose la tela beige con la estampada para formar un cuadrado de la misma medida que la parte de atrás de la agarradera.

The beige fabric is then sewn with the patterned fabric to form a square the same size as the back of the pot holder.

Las costuras se refuerzan por la parte delantera uniendo este cuadrado a los dos cuadrados que se utilizan de rellenos para que queden pegados como la parte posterior de la agarradera.

The seams are reinforced at the front by joining this square to the two squares that are used for padding so that they are glued as the back of the handle.

Se unen los dos cuadros, delantero y trasero, cosiéndolos por todo el borde quedando con el relleno adentro.

The two squares, front and back, are joined, sewing them along the entire edge, leaving the filling inside.

A continuación incrusté los corazones en el cuadrante inferior, que era el más grande, con el punto festón que hice con hilo blanco para que resaltara.

Next, I embedded the hearts in the lower quadrant, which was the largest, with the festoon stitch that I made with white thread so that it would stand out.

Para terminar, le cosí todo el bies rojo, que tenía guardado, porque lo hice con un jersey rojo y pensé que lo usaría en otra manualidad, pero decidí usarlo como bies en esta porque me gustó como combinaba. Puse el bies, dejando un poco sobrante que se convirtió en la parte por donde se cuelga la agarradera.

To finish, I sewed all the red bias, which I had saved, because I did it with a red sweater and I thought I would use it in another craft, but I decided to use it as a bias in this one because I liked how it combined. I put the bias, leaving a little excess that became the part where the handle hangs.
