El día de ayer mi esposo me planteo una escapada rápida, pese a tener el clóset lleno de mi ropa, sentía que no tenía nada que ponerme 🤭 (cosas de mujeres) Entonces vi por allá en un rincón, un Body que había extraído del clóset de mi abuela hacia tiempo atrás (con su consentimiento, claro está)! Quería darle un aspecto más juvenil y también más fresco.
Yesterday my husband suggested a quick getaway, despite having a closet full of my clothes, I felt I had nothing to wear 🤭 (women's stuff) Then I saw over there in a corner, a Body that I had extracted from my grandmother's closet some time ago (with her consent, of course)! I wanted to give it a more youthful look and also a fresher one.

PASOS // STEPS
Cuando me probé la primera vez está prenda, no me gusto el aspecto que me daban las mangas, aparte de que me bloqueaban la circulación de lo apretadas que me quedaban 😁. Entonces como tenía poco tiempo para alistarme, a este body le di una rápida pero fácil transformación. Lo que me gusta de las telas de licra es que al cortarlas no se necesita hacer un ruedo, o por lo menos es lo que he experimentado con este tipo de telas en las modificaciones que he hecho. Así es que como no tenía mucho tiempo, era buena idea modificarla a ella. En primer lugar tome el body y visualicé donde haría los cortes de las mangas.
When I first tried on this garment, I didn't like the way the sleeves looked on me, besides the fact that they were blocking my circulation because of how tight they were 😁. So since I had little time to get ready, I gave this bodysuit a quick but easy makeover. What I like about lycra fabrics is that when you cut them you don't need to make a roll, or at least that's what I've experienced with this type of fabric in the alterations I've done. So since I didn't have much time, it was a good idea to modify it. First I took the bodysuit and visualized where I would make the sleeve cuts.
Luego de tener claro dónde haría los cortes, tomé la tijera y me fui cortando todo el borde de la costura de las mangas. En este caso por no tener hojilla, corte con tijera. Y así me fui por toda la costura hasta que logré quitar la primera Manga. Hice el mismo procedimiento con la segunda! Para cerciorarme de que la tela no se fuera a ir, la estire para ver si se deshilachaba en los bordes que había cortado, pero al no ser así, me sentí confiada de colocarmela!
After I was clear about where I would make the cuts, I took the scissors and cut all along the edge of the sleeve seam. In this case, since I didn't have a blade, I cut with scissors. And so I went all along the seam until I managed to remove the first sleeve. I did the same procedure with the second one! To make sure the fabric wasn't going to come off, I stretched it to see if it would fray at the edges I had cut, but when it didn't, I felt confident to put it on!
Luego de unos minutos esta prenda estaba, en fáciles pasos, modificada y lista para usar! Me pareció un resultado útil para compartir, pues en ocasiones tenemos ropa en nuestro clóset que no usamos porque no nos gusta su aspecto, sin embargo he comprobado que con algo de creatividad y algunos cambios esta prenda puede ser usada de nuevo. Aparte, cabe destacar que este body era usado por mi abuela como un traje de baño en los años 1600, jejeje, así es que sin importar el uso que haya tenido
antiguamente una prenda y el tiempo que llevara guardada, podemos transformarla y vernos muy original!
After a few minutes this garment was, in easy steps, modified and ready to wear! I found it a useful result to share, because sometimes we have clothes in our closet that we do not use because we do not like the way they look, however I have found that with some creativity and some changes this garment can be used again. Besides, it is worth mentioning that this bodysuit was used by my grandmother as a bathing suit in the 1600's, hehehe, so regardless of the use that has had a garment in the past and the time that it has been worn, it can be used again.
