Hola cómo están comunidad de artesanos y manualistas, tenía mucho tiempo que no pasaba por aquí, porque he estado algo ocupada, pero hoy les quiero compartir un poco algo sencillo que hice hace unos días ,mi hermanita se gradua del liceo y habíamos quedado en que no se le haría birrete pero unos días antes me dijo que si lo quería y me tocó improvisar con lo que tenía ,ya que lo necesitaba para el último timbre, que sería el último día de escuela antes de hacer todo los preparativos de la graduación y ese tipo de cosas para la ceremonia, con el poco tiempo que tuve no tenía muchas opciones , pero lo que si tenía ers mi birrete que hice hace un año para mí graduación de la universidad, aunque estaba algo usado ,pensé en restaurarlo y volver a decorarlo para poder darle otro uso y también ahorrar en costes del material y tiempo, y bueno el resultado quedó muy bien , le dió otra vida y quedó espectacular con la combinación de colores, blanco , dorado y negro. My little sister is graduating from high school and we had agreed that we wouldn't make her a cap, but a few days before she told me if I wanted one, and I had to improvise with what I had since I needed it for the last bell, which would be the last day of school before making all the graduation preparations and that sort of thing for the ceremony. With the little time I had, I didn't have many options, but what I did have was my cap that I made a year ago for my college graduation. Although it was somewhat used, I thought about restoring it and redecorating it so I could give it another one. use and also save on material costs and time, and well, the result was very good, giving it another life and looking spectacular with the color combination of white, gold, and black. #1 Para la base entonces usé mi viejo birrete, le quite las letras del nombre y algunos otros detalles , para la parte de arriba se le habían caído algunas flores ,y también se veía un poco vacío así que tendría que agregarle algunos detalles decorativos para poder tapar estás que se calleron y darle algo más de decoración.

**#1 For the base then I used my old mortarboard, I removed the letters of the name and some other details, for the top part some flowers had fallen off,and it also looked a little empty so I would have to add some decorative details to cover up these fallen ones and give it some more decoration. **

#2 Para tapar en dónde iban las letras antiguas y dejar un buen fondo, corté tiras de foami negro escarchado ,midiendo la distancia entre las cintas y lentejuelas , y "tape" toda esta parte media del birrete con el foami negro nuevo , corté varias para que me diera suficiente material para forrar toda la parte media del birrete, también hice el nombre en letras separadas en foami blanco escarchado , las corté y luego los pegué en un foami negro escarchado para crear contraste, y recorté la silueta de las letras , y para darle aún más tridimensionalidad puse las letras en un foami dorado escarchado, y recorté la silueta también dejándole un borde dorado muy bonito y elegante al nombre.

#2 To cover where the old letters were and leave a nice background, I cut strips of black frosted foam, measuring the distance between the ribbons and sequins, and "covered" this entire middle part of the mortarboard with the new black foam, I cut several so that it would give me enough material to cover the entire middle part of the mortarboard, I also made the name in separate letters in white frosted foam, I cut them and then glued them on a black frosted foam to create contrast, and I cut out the silhouette of the letters, and to give it even more three-dimensionality I put the letters on a gold frosted foam, and I cut out the silhouette as well, leaving a very nice and elegant golden edge to the name.

#3 Una vez forrado la parte media del birrete ,le pegué en el Medio el nombre , ya haciendo esto luce bastante lindo , pero le agregaré otros detallitos para llenar espacios. En cartulina dorada corté varias florecitas y le puse un circulo de foami blanco con un saca bocados para formar el centro, también corté en foami dorado pequeñas estrellitas e hice dos flores de foami dorado con doble petalos que me servirá para colocar en los espacios de la parte superior del birrete en dónde se cayeron algunas de las flores que tenía antes. Las flores doradas de cartulina las puse por todo la superficie rellenando los espacios y también para tapar algún desgaste del foami antiguo ,para el pompom le agregué una estrella para darle un toque adorable.

I cut out several little flowers from gold cardstock and put a white foam circle on it with a hole punch to form the center. I also cut small stars out of gold foam and made two gold foam flowers with double petals that I will use to place in the spaces at the top of the cap where some of the flowers I had before fell off. I put the gold cardstock flowers all over the surface, filling in the spaces and also to cover some wear on the old foam. For the pompom, I added a star to give it a cute touch.

#4 Las florecitas de cartulina dorada ,las coloque entre la división del medio que ya tenía el birrete, y así visualmente se llena mucho más el espacio, las estrellitas pequeñas las puse haciendo un patrón en todo la parte media del birrete para que no se viera tan vacío, y también agregué unas encima del nombre, y en la parte de atrás.

#4 I placed the little gold cardstock flowers between the middle division that the cap already had, and this way the space is visually filled much more. I placed the little stars in a pattern all over the middle of the cap so that it wouldn't look so empty, and I also added some above the name and on the back.

#5 Y listo este sería el resultado! No hice muchas modificaciones pero tienen otra vida con este diseño ,y pude darle otro uso así que no está mal , quedó muy bonito y me encantó que como es blanco ,dorado y negro ,combinó bastante con la chemise de graduación que tiene mi hermana ,que es blanca negra y vinotinto, así que lucia todo demasiado lindo , y lo importante es que a ella le gustó y pudo usarlo en su último día de clase y lo usará en sus otras actividades y en la ceremonia de graduación 🎓 ✨ así que estamos muy felices y celebrando la culminación de tantos años de estudios y su paso a la universidad🥹. Ustedes díganme que les pareció ? Les gustó ? Lo bueno es que mientras se tenga la base en buen estado uno puede forrar o redecorar el birrete cuántas veces quiera y darle más usos.
