When I got the order I got down to work, I got the file online, I configured it in the program I use to send the 3D models to my printer and printed it, it was about 8 or 9 hours of printing until I had it ready, while the piece was done I took the opportunity to search the internet for reference images of the beloved character Stich, I needed to see what colors I was going to use to paint but especially wanted to know the shade of blue I needed for the matte as I am very picky and detail with these things.
Cuando me llego el pedido puse manos a la obra, conseguí el archivo por internet, lo configura en el programa que utilizo para mandar los modelos 3D a mi impresora y lo imprimí, fueron unas 8 o 9 horas de impresión hasta que lo tuve listo, mientras la pieza se hacia aproveche para buscar en internet imágenes de referencia sobre el amado personaje Stich, necesitaba ver que colores iba a usar para pintar pero especialmente quería saber el tono de azul que necesitaba para el mate ya que soy muy quisquilloso y detallista con estas cosas.

The only thing I was missing was the blue acrylic paint so I went to a small bazaar near my house and looked at all the blue ones, I bought it and I had no excuse to continue with my work.
Lo único que me faltaba era la pintura acrílica azul así que fui a un pequeño bazar cerca de mi casa y me puse a ver los todos de azul, lo compré y ya no tenia escusa para continuar con mi trabajo.
First I sanded the whole piece, I wanted the surface finish to be incredible and this can be achieved with a water sandpaper. Why sanding with water? Well this will allow us to have a smoother finish and at the same time it will prevent the piece from being scratched, so to speak, it generates a very homogeneous polishing effect.
Primero lije toda la pieza, yo quería que el acabado superficial sea increíble y esto puede lograrse con una lija al agua ¿Para qué lijar con agua? Bueno esto nos permitirá tener un acabado más liso a su vez evitará que quede rayada la pieza, por decirlo de alguna forma, genera un efecto de pulido muy homogéneo.
Remember to protect your eyes and nose when sanding because it can cause allergies or irritations, I warn you now because it has happened to me several times, also try not to bring your hands to your eyes or mouth while working because the micro plastic is dangerous.
Recuerden protegerse al lijar, tanto los ojos como la nariz porque puede generar alergias o irritaciones, se los aviso desde ya porque me ha ocurrido varias veces, también intenten no llevarle las manos a los ojos o a la boca mientras trabajan porque el micro plástico es peligroso.

I started with a first coat of blue, waited for it to dry and continued to apply layers with a thick brush to be able to cover everything much faster and once I was satisfied with the finish I started to prepare the other colors such as light blue for the eyes and black for the pupils.
Comencé con una primera capa de azul, esperé a que secara y seguí dando capas con un pincel grueso para poder cubrir todo mucho más rápido y una vez estuve conforme con la terminación empecé a preparar los otros colores como el celeste para los ojos y el negro para las pupilas.
To paint the eyes I used thinner brushes, this way I had more control in the area I wanted to paint, but, I'll be honest, sometimes my pulse failed and I ended up putting paint in parts that were already finished, so I had to be careful, fix these defects and continue with the work.
Para pintar los ojos utilice pinceles más finos, de esta forma tenia más control en lo zona que quería pintar, pero, les voy a ser sinceros, a veces mi pulso fallo y termine colocando pintura en partes que ya estaban acabadas, así que tocaba tener cuidado, arreglar estos defectos y seguir con la labor.
When I finished with the eyes I used pink paint mixed with red paint to make a stronger tone for the inside of the ears, this was the most complicated part. On the one hand, I had to calculate the amount of paint I would need for both ears, it happened to me that I didn't get enough and I had to mix it again looking for the same tonality and I have to tell you that it is not very pleasant, then also the whole inner part of the ears was difficult to cover, I had to use a very small brush to reach the inner angles of the ears, but with patience I was satisfied.
Al terminar con los ojos use pintura rosa mesclada con pintura roja para hacer un tono un poco más fuerte para la parte interior de las orejas, esto fue lo más complicado. Por un lado, tenia que calcular la cantidad de pintura que necesitaría para ambas orejas, me paso que no me alzando y tuve que volver a hacer la mescla buscando la misma tonalidad y tengo que decirles que no es algo muy agradable, después también toda la zona interna de las orejas era difícil de cubrir, tenia que usar un pincel muy chico para llegar a los ángulos internos de las orejas, pero con paciencia me quede conforme.
Now there was only the last detail, paint the reflection of the pupil in the eyes and the paint job was finished, without exaggeration I can say that it is one of the matte that I spent more time and it was better. I waited a few hours for it to dry well, checked if there was any space that I did not cover well and began to cover it with layers of water varnish to protect the paint.
Ahora solo quedaba el ultimo detalle, pintar el reflejo de la pupila en los ojos y el trabajo de pintura ya estaba finalizado, sin exagerar puedo decir que es uno de los mates al que más tiempo le dedique y mejor quedo. Espere unas horas a que secara bien, revise si había algún espacio que no cubrí bien y empecé a cubrirlo con capas de barniz al agua para proteger la pintura.
Some time ago I bought this half liter water based varnish and it has given me a lot of results, what I recommend is to reduce it with water to make it last longer since using it super concentrated is a waste. This for example is a matte varnish that leaves a great surface finish, before I used a glossy one, but it really did not convince me.
Yo hace tiempo compre este barniz al agua de medio litro y me ha rendido un montón, lo que recomiendo es rebajarlo con agua para que dure más ya que usarlo super concentrado es un desperdicio. Now the last step was to take the black plastic polymer that will contain the yerba mate and the hot water, I stick this piece inside the mate but there are other people who prefer to just strain them under pressure.
Ahora el ultimo paso era tomar el polímero negro de plástico que contendrá la yerba y el agua caliente, yo pego esta pieza dentro del mate pero hay otras personas que prefieren solo colarlos a presión.
