Saludos hivers, el día de hoy les traigo un tutorial sobre un "Mueble alfiletero", una idea muy útil para las costureras y, por supuesto, para las principiantes como yo (jaja). Quise realizar este proyecto porque tenía los artículos de costura regados en diferentes lugares de la habitación, por ello me propuse ordenarlos. Como es costumbre, solicité los sabios consejos de mi abuela y de mi mamá, mujeres de mucha experiencia y creatividad. Esta manualidad sirve para guardar hilos, dedales, cinta métrica, descosedor y otros instrumentos pequeños. Asimismo, posee una almohadilla para colocar las agujas y los alfileres. Les voy a enseñar el procedimiento y lo que vamos a necesitar.

Greetings hivers, today I bring you a tutorial on a "pincushion cabinet", a very useful idea for seamstresses and, of course, for beginners like me (haha). I wanted to make this project because I had my sewing supplies scattered in different places in the room, so I decided to put them in order. As usual, I sought the wise advice of my grandmother and my mom, women of great experience and creativity. This craft can be used to store threads, thimbles, measuring tape, unstitchers and other small instruments. It also has a pad to hold needles and pins. I am going to show you the procedure and what we will need.

Procedimiento:

En cartón, con la ayuda de una regla, marqué tres cuadrados de 15 cm de alto por 15 cm de ancho, estos serían: la base, la parte frontal y la tapa de dicha estructura. La parte trasera de nuestro mueble la hice en forma de arco, la cual midió 20 cm de alto por 15 cm de ancho.

Procedure:

In cardboard, with the help of a ruler, I marked three squares of 15 cm high by 15 cm wide, these would be: the base, the front and the top of the structure. I made the back of our furniture in the shape of an arch, which measured 20 cm high by 15 cm wide.

Para realizar los dos brazos del mueble, tomé de referencia la silueta de uno grande, en este caso, las medidas fueron 15 cm alto por 10 cm de ancho. Posteriormente, recorté todos los fragmentos con mucha delicadeza para no dañarlos.

El cartón utilizado fue 2 en kilo, el cual es idóneo para este trabajo, pues es fácil recortarlo y tiene la firmeza necesaria para consolidar la estructura del mueble. Cabe aclarar que el cartón de caja es muy difícil de manejar con una tijera normal, incluso, se podría romper. También, tenemos la opción de usar un exacto, pero el proceso sería más engorroso, dependerá de cada uno y la disposición de recursos que tengamos.

To make the two arms of the furniture, I took as a reference the silhouette of a large one, in this case, the measures were 15 cm high by 10 cm wide. Afterwards, I cut out all the fragments very delicately so as not to damage them.

The cardboard used was 2 in kilo, which is ideal for this work, because it is easy to cut and has the necessary firmness to consolidate the structure of the furniture. It should be noted that box cardboard is very difficult to handle with normal scissors and could even break. We also have the option of using an exacto, but the process would be more cumbersome, it will depend on each one of us and the availability of resources we have.

Una vez que estuvieron listas las partes del mueble en cartón, procedí a moldearlas en goma espuma, de esta forma, quedaría acolchado el armazón. Le coloqué goma espuma más ancha a lo que sería nuestra almohadilla.

Once the cardboard parts of the furniture were ready, I proceeded to mold them in foam rubber, this way, the frame would be padded. I placed wider foam rubber on what would be our cushion.

Luego, pegué los fragmentos para darle forma al proyecto. Le coloqué bastante silicón para solidificar el esqueleto del sillón. Tal como se puede observar en la fotografía.

Then, I glued the fragments together to give shape to the project. I put a lot of silicone to solidify the skeleton of the armchair. As you can see in the picture.

Posteriormente, forré con tela. Utilicé silicón para moldear cada parte, se debe tener mucho cuidado y precisión para que no quede arrugado. Por ello, dispuse de bastante tiempo realizando este paso. La unión de la tela se puede coser a mano, tendría un buen acabado. Pero, en mi caso, consideré más práctico hacerlo con pega.

Afterwards, I lined it with fabric. I used silicone to mold each part, it is necessary to be very careful and precise so that it does not get wrinkled. Therefore, I spent a lot of time doing this step. The union of the fabric can be sewn by hand, it would have a good finish. But, in my case, I considered it more practical to do it with glue.

Le coloqué una cinta en el centro de la parte frontal para halarlo y abrir el mueble de forma sencilla.

I placed a ribbon in the center of the front part to pull it and open the cabinet easily.

Para adornar el sillón, le pegué cinta naranja y blanca por el borde, utilicé estos colores para combinarlos con la tela. Luego, coloqué los hilos en el interior y las agujas en la almohadilla superior. Este mueble me parece muy práctico y útil, así que te invito a que te animes a realizar el tuyo. Quizás, a primera vista, puede resultar un tanto complicado, pero sigue las instrucciones y lograrás resultados increíbles. Espero les haya gustado.

To embellish the chair, I glued orange and white ribbon around the edge, using these colors to match the fabric. Then, I placed the threads on the inside and the needles on the upper cushion. I find this piece of furniture very practical and useful, so I invite you to make your own. Perhaps, at first glance, it may seem a bit complicated, but follow the instructions and you will achieve incredible results. I hope you liked it.
